For those who wanna know the updated and lowest air fare to BKK ...
6th of May ,Tuesday, 1805hrs depart at only 19.99 SGD before tax. Return 14th of May , Wednesday depart at 2010hrs at 39.99 SGD before tax
Total after tax per pax is S$205.98
This is by TigerAirways.
For AirAsia , 6th May 2205hrs depart SG at 45.00SGD return 14th May at 73.00SGD 4 time slots.
Total per pax is S$268.00
Zuji is offering S$283.00 after tax per pax to depart 6th May from SG and return 14th May.Various Time Slot.
This is taking Thai Airways

Last check ; 24th April 2008

Is there a thread on airfare to BKK already ?? i only saw update on thai baht, thai songs, happening discos in bangkok and hotels le. only read airfare on of these threads which are occassional.
I'm quite a frequent traveller there so hope to share my info of cheap airfare and hope to be able to get some info too.

u can book in advance for the whole year.. sure cheaper.

the cheapest budget airline fare i've taken for return ticket for bkk was around 96 sing dollars including tax. That was some promotional fare by airasia when they first launched.

BUT....
airfare changes due to seasons and frequencies and popularity of bookings. esp for budget air. It might be a hassle for you to keep updating. This thread may get confusing....

Correct , rates are seasonal and changes frequently. So whoever is goin and have done research can input their price, flight timing information here.
So those of us who happen to hit on the same period can act fast and book lo.
I think many would wanna plan to hit on National Day.
Was checkin' it out. Checked on 23rd & 24th April, was S$186.
Depart on 7th August and return 12th August.
Just checked at 25th April , 1433hrs , is now at S$478.98
Depart from SG 1810hr .Return to SG 0055hrs.
This is by Tiger Airways.
I personally blacklisted Airasia after last cock up of about 7 hours delay.
Before that was always a 1 to 3hours delay. Cheap but bad service.

Maybe not all the time it's about cost, some believe in convenience (time sensitive), or a little luxury (budget vs carrier).

But this will definitely benefit samsters who want to have more information.

TS, I encourage you to share places of attraction (not just the "usual ones" ) and even accomodation choices (like Tim's) or cuisines to patronise.

Ya agreed. Not everyone goes for budget carrier.
I've taken Airasia,SQ,TG ,Finair and Tiger.
Personally i feel airasia suxs big time on its punctuality though its cheap.
Love Thai Airways, good service but higher fares.
And everytime i go i make it a point to stay in different hotels for experience sake.
I have stayed in more than a dozen hotels only 2 makes an impression.
Shangrila and Palazzo.
For Shangrila, their waitress actually kneel down to serve you.
The bed is fantastic, very different from other hotels and the bathroom is wonderfully clean and big. Overall great experience but i forgot the cost.
Only downside, bad location. Damn Ulu.
Palazzo is a money worth well hotel and good location.
There's a hotel from hell called Swan ... its a big no-no.
For food, there's this resturant called Baan Khanitha which is a sure hit among my friends.Good food but not cheap.
Actually there is a thread on hotels already ( Tim's ) so dun wanna waste the bandwidth la.

Huh? How to pangpualiap? i tot their uniform like dumpling,only can see head & hands... initially their stewardess chio la. last few times i took, i can only see sg aunties. like those kopitiam tiger promoters, only diff is airasia's speak better english.

the last time i was in bkk last year, i took swiss. here are the details for you:

Singapore - Bangkok (Flight LX 183)
Leave SIN - 21:00Hours
Arrive BKK - 22:30Hours

Bangkok - Singapore (LX 182)
Leave BKK - 15:35Hours
Arrive SIN - 18:55Hours

These are daily flights. Aircraft is the A340-300. All economy class seats with personal inflight entertainment system. Yes, swiss operates the this route Zurich - Singapore (with Bangkok as a stopover) so they use the bigger long haul A340 which has the personal entertainment systems in each seat. But as its a short flight from SIN to BKK, i was too concerned with the entertainment onboard.

My personal experience with swiss was so-so. Sometimes they have very competitive fares as compared to Thai or Cathay Pacific. But the big negative point is the flight from SIN to BKK, where u arrive at 10:30pm at night in Bangkok, so one day hotel fee wasted.

Don't think your combi works -1's budget operating 1 way and other regular for round trip. If yours is 3Q horizon (and beyond), with dates pretty fixed then your decision for best option's much easier.

Realistically, fares not only vary with peak periods (like hols) but kena fuel surcharge with rising oil price. Besides, time + effort + aggro (checking ever so often) can be your undoing.

Last week, managed to get last minute SwissAir for departure this may day weekend $299.

Besides repute for delays by AAsia, I personally can't stomach the bus merry go round tarmac (sans aerobridge) with luggage in tow and all. TG has range of flights, punctuality not strong point and old planes. CX scores on punctuality, efficient service and bigger/newer cabins (enroute to HK) -never fail me on etd/eta. SQ's good if you can find some1 to accompany you to/fro (2 to go fares).

The last i booked on jetstar....a few minutes ago....

Leaving on 5th coming back 7th June - SGD $204 in all with taxes and everything.....ehehehe not as cheap as the cheapest i got was the $3 tics and that came up to SGD $144 for everything in.....
