First Time Poster with a question!

Hello All,

This is my first time posting here, and I have zero experience hiring.

I just want to share my experience with everyone here today, and to clear some doubts.

I met a provider online, and went to the agreed location. She asks for a photo of the place to prove that I am indeed there. I was a bit puzzled why, but I don't see the harm. After proving I was there, she asks for my phone number. (we previously contacted on LINE up till now) I was really wary of giving out my phone number, though I can't think of a reason what it would do to me.

I asked her why a number is needed when she can contact me on LINE, and she said she wont have internet when she's going to fetch me to (what i assume) the real location. i persisted in asking for a reason, and she mentioned she was wary of police, and that her manager wanted to call me to confirm my identity. I don't see how calling me will confirm any identity.

At any rate, I just felt that something was wrong, and I simply walked away from this exchange. I want to ask everyone here if I was being too cautious? Also, is this usual? This is not Geylang, which I guess it's not legal? (im not sure tho, as like i've said, i have 0 exp.)

can brudders here tell me if i did the right thing? or did i walk away from a good deal (she was pretty too) for nothing?

just dun give ur contact number away, esp the number u used to contact ur family, friends, etc. u may wan to get another number like those prepaid number for chionging. bcos after give ur number n found something not comfortable u can just change ur this 2nd number. if u give ur contact number that u commonly used then changing that number may cause a lot of inconvenience like need to inform all friends again, etc. just a suggestion.

hey bro thanks for the warning and tip. completely undersatnd. which is why i was veri reluctnt to give out my number.

but just as curiosity and future referencing, is there anything that can be done to me by them simply having my number? what i was worried if it was a (police) trap, or extortion/blackmail by threatening to show messages with my number on it etc.

can anyone think of any reason why they insisted on having my number as opposed to simply calling me on LINE?

I don't get this... calling chickens should be something which can be done within an hour. Why do we need such lengthy discussion just on how to book a chicken?

Nowadays the PRC chickens are using an apps that accesses our calling chickens record -- whether if we give tips, hard to ejaculate, got body odor, etc. based on our phone numbers.

I once asked a chicken to check some of my colleagues' phone numbers to see how do they behave when they go call chickens... I know, it's a bit kay-poh but it was fun.

I hope you are being sarcastic. Using your nicks and links they can search for things, with your number the average person can find even more things.

hey bro. you are right. it was $100 for 2 hours. this was my first red flag. thats why i proceeded very very carefully. and, as i said, this is my FIRST time hiring.

the girl is pretty, but gnd pretty. not the super voluptouse those kinda. i FEEL like it's some sort of scam, but i just cannot figure out what they can dow tih my number. if all they need is a number, they can easily get from propert/yinsurance agents. so i guess it's more like blackmail? idk honestly.

She didnt ask me for apple card etc. so im like 65% feel smth is fishy, but it also makes sense that they are cautious if they are freelance, aka illegal.

If this is your first time whoring, perhaps you would be surprised that many deal through phone numbers. It's a form of identity where OKTs filter undesirable clients. You are concerned about the chicken, chicken also worried about you. Whether $100/2/2 is scam or not isn't important. It's an open market, if she is lousy nobody will engage her at that rate. So don't use that as a yard stick.

If you comfortable using only an app that you are comfortable with, that is up to you. But if it's uncomfortable to the other party, then no honey for you, no money for her. However, I think it's a stretch to extrapolate that just because she asked for your number, it is a scam.

I think you are being unnecessarly cautious. It's better for you to get another Sim card to play.

It is likely a scam. Experienced a few times. They eventually will try and get your phone number. They would possibly pester / threaten u via the number u shared & eventually coax u to pay up in 1 form or another. Thus, if u wanna venture further next time, try with another non essential phone number.

When they asked for my number, I will tell them I'm not sharing. Then, eventually they gave up and block me. I'll then report and have their wechat account blocked.

yeah, i read some others. granted, i didnt read ALL, for obvious reasons.

anyway, after some digging through, i do feel that it is a scam since their procedure was really similar in many ways. im only baffled by what they intend to do with my number alone, since they didnt ask for card codes.

one guy reported being threatened if he doesnt pay money, so i guess that could be one possibility.

understood. i couldnt conclude that it was indeed a scam, hence this thread. that said, it wasnt based on their rate alone. it was merely the first red flag is all. based on everything else ive read since, it's most defeinmitely some form of scam so im glad i made the right decision to turn away.
