Loan scam on locanto/kik

Hi everyone, I am writing this post so as to let potential victims be aware of such scams going around.

I saw a post on locanto a few months ago and chatted with the owner of the post. The scammer will ask you to communicate through kik (because it is not possible to trace the user)

The usual stories will be that she is a young girl who is in debt because of her ex bf who ran away after getting himself in debt and she was the one who borrowed the money from the bank/loan shark/friend.

Below are some examples of the posts the scammer posted on locanto.



To cut long story short, I was tricked into loaning the scammer a $15k and the scammer would continue to chat with you for months in an attempt to con you into lending more money with the promises that the money will be returned by installment. This is not a typical scam as the scammer plotted for months.

I have made a police a few months ago and the only thing the investigation officer say is it is under investigation.

I have already resigned to losing the money but I have to write this post because the scammer is still using the same trick to scam people!

The following are some of the information I have gathered for the past few months.

Scammer’s locanto username:
leooo96, Denver12345, Charmaineleona96, Babygal96

Scammer has been creating new locanto accounts but the posts are roughly the same.

Scammer’s bank account
024-63075-4 (this account belongs to the name Kong Wai Leong)
198-88213-5 (probably female accomplice’s account)

I can confirm that this lady is part of the scam because in separate occasion when I requested the scammer to post selfie with certain hand signal, the scammer is able to produce it but of cos it will take the scammer some time to send the photo (probably the female scammer is not the one chatting with me)

Some information about the female scammer that are not confirmed...
Her real name is sheralyn and is staying in tampines area.

Let’s hope they get caught and prevent more of us to get scammed.

p.s. my grandfather suffered a heart attack after he found out I lost $15k to scam and have passed away few months ago.

I’m usually on locanto (more than sbf) and I’m just kind of shock at how much the loan amount is. Have you even met her in real life?

I’m guessing no since she only did signals you wanted via photos to authenticate she’s “real”?

Personally I really wonder wtf she promise you 😰 15k really no joke :/

I do think most guys will want a face to face meet for larger amounts. Unless the girl has genuine reviews that are great.

I am a female and once posted in locanto looking for a LTR or companion. I realised there are many clone accounts around either guys or girls. Sorry to hear about this but hopefully you can be more cautious on the future. Meanwhile hope you can get over it soonest possible despite it takes some times.

Bro, I’m shocked for that amount but seeing you gathered much information, I really hope that the police can do their job and bring them to justice. Of course get back ur money lah.

but tbh, locanto really hard to trust at all. Filled with scam accounts and insincere people these days.

I was just loaning her the money out of goodwill hoping can help “her” with the situation but was scammed. Too naive and didn’t check properly. I can only blame my stupidity.

By the way, I know some of the samsters here actually know this female scammer in real life. I really hope they can provide some information. I know the concern is that what if the scammer is actually using her photos to conduct all the scam and she is not involved. In this case, shouldn’t she be made known to this and make police report to nap the real scammer instead of letting her photos be used again and again?

On the other hand, if she is really part of the scam, then the more we should expose her and stop her from scamming more people.

Don't worry bro, you're not the first and you won't be the last. I also got cheated before. I know how it feels. All we can do now is believe in karma. Honestly, reporting to the police no point. You won't get your money back but if that make you feel better then good.

Dude I'm very, very sorry to hear about your grandpa's passing. A 15k loss is not an amount that would wreck your life, but there is no price-tag on a life.

Guys, please don't be too trusting of strangers, even the ones with compelling stories. Everything can be fabricated with enough effort. Never, ever, transfer money to a stranger without any guarantees.

I'm sorry to hear of your grandfather's passing.
Even if the police can find enough evidence to arrest and charge the person, chances are you won't be able to get your money back.
