23 people arrested for gambling, advertising sexual services online and other offence

Lydia Lam SINGAPORE - Twenty-three people were arrested for offences including gambling and offering sexual services online during a week-long joint enforcement operation by the Ang Mo Kio Police Division and Central Narcotics Bureau. Officers conducted checks on about 700 people at more than 70 homes and shops in Yishun, Ang Mo Kio and Sengkang during the operation, which was held from May 21 to 27. Of the 23 people, eight were women who were arrested for advertising sexual services online and operating in residential areas. Cash amounting to $730 and 10 handphones were seized. Of the 15 men who were arrested, 14 aged between 23 and 51 were nabbed for operating a gambling den and participating in the games. The other man, aged 44, was arrested for drink driving at a roadblock. Investigations are ongoing. Under the Common Gaming House Act, anyone gaming in a public place will be guilty of an offence and faces up to six months' jail and/or a fine of up to $5,000. continue reading here : https://www.straitstimes.com/singapo...other-offences
