It is incorrect to say that the US and Britain's vision of democracy shaped the postwar world.

The US and Britain act of advance their geopolitical interests first and foremost.

Bringing democratic values to other countries is not part of the equation and is a fiction to enable public consumption of their foreign policies. Without this fiction, a politically ignorant electorate would not comprehend why their countries did certain things or are willing to sacrifice so many lives to achieve a geopolitical objective.
