Video footage of a woman in Kazakhstan trotting behind her boyfriend’s car while carrying a fridge has led to some, shall we say, confusion.
In the video, the woman is seen holding the fridge, which was apparently just slightly too big to fit in their trunk. Her husband, meanwhile, drives down a street.


Many have drawn comparisons with Sacha Baron Cohen’s sexist Kazakh alter-ego, Borat.

The outrageous ‘reporter’ portrayed the Central Asian country as being home to nationwide incest and prostitution, with a scattering of women-beating anti-Semites.


In the film, Borat was shocked to learn that women in the US had been allowed to drive. It’s worth noting that women in Kazakhstan can, in fact, drive. Which begs the question. Why had she been carrying the fridge rather than seated behind the wheel?


The video was uploaded online with the title: “Kelinka from Kazakhstan carrying a fridge behind the car,” ‘Kelinka’ being a term reportedly used to describe a “multitalented fiancee”.

When you think about it, it’s actually very progressive. All the video proves is that women are just as capable of carrying out manual labor in the form of fridge carrying as any man. Maybe she wanted the exercise?



Or else it proves that she’s marrying a guy who won’t let her drive and forces her to run behind his car while carrying their fridge.
