Photo: SCMP Pictures. A former physics teacher has admitted to killing a 23-year-old woman who went missing in Northern China on Sunday night, a newspaper in Beijing reported. Jing Yaping, according to the report, was a student at Henan University’s school of medicine and was last seen on Sunday leaving a gathering at a former classmate’s home in Dengfeng, Henan (河南) province at 5pm, the Beijing Times reported. Her charred body was found on Wednesday afternoon in mountains near Xinmi, 35km from Dengfeng. Police confirmed that DNA tests confirmed the body was Jing’s. The suspect, Dong Yinding, admitted to murdering Jing at his home, which is about 700m from Jing’s home in Tawan Village. Dong was placed under criminal detention on Thursday while police gather evidence to press formal charges. According to the Beijing Times, Dong taught high school physics in Dengfeng after graduating from the prestigious Nankai University in Tianjin. But he was jailed for 10 years for raping several of his students and was released in 2014.  The victim, Jing Yaping, was a student at Henan Medical University.
