PM Lee has finally figured out how to be a hero on social media

Being an internet celebrity isn't light stuff. Fans, right? You just can't please 'em.

But Singapore's prime minister Lee Hsien Loong, who's been pretty active on Facebook, has figured out at least one winning ingredient: sunset photos.

Sure if you're a social media snob you'd think it was too 'mainstream', unimaginative, even attention-seeking, but he's a politician, and compliments are scarce.

So... sunset photo it is.

"Wow! Is this Singapore?! It's stunning! You are really a professional photographer, Sir! Hats off to you!!!" said one Facebook user, a woman.

Another said, "PM's pictures always turn out so lively and inspiring, I believe it's captured not only with skills but also with his love and feeling for our pretty island!"

And his (possibly iPhone 6) shooting skills aren't the only thing getting commended.

"I feel it is toughest to be Singapore PM! Mr Lee dedicates so much of his time and effort to connect to people yet many are still asking for more. Keep fighting for the sake of people who believe in you Sir."

Imagine over 500 of these types of comments, shared 357 times so far, liked by close to 20,000 people. If that's not a fandom, we dont' know what is.

The bizarro was not lost on local blogger Miyagi, who recently plugged it with a satire tweet:
