Pre paid hp card in bkk?

HI all Bkk cheongster,
since i dont have internaional roaming as i also dont wish to have 1. Can i buy a pre paid card in bkk when i reached there? Do they have such thing like what starhub or M1 have? Where can i buy them in Ratchada and how much? Search through forum but no1 mentioned about this. Mayby lau jiao naemlo can help

Hello Brudder!

Yes, go buy a Prepaid card and I recommend 1-2-Call (read as one-two-call and not Twelve Calls!). If you want to choose lucky number, then price as high as 700-1000 bht with value of about 30 bht airtime. If any number also can (recommended) then can get it at low low price of about 200bht or less with stored value of 30bht. Next you need to buy Top up card of 100, 200 or 300 bht to add value. 1-2-call also gives you GPRS access if required and when u use it to call home to Singapore, its only 7bht per minutes (cheap until lau sai!), just diall 009.

Of course, all incoming calls are FREE!!!

Yes sir, u can buy. I'm using 1-2-call. If u want lucky swee swee number, u can go MBK to buy.

Best recommended pre-paid phone card is "HAPPY" from Dtac cos there is promotion for Dtac all year round. Like for now it cost just 1 baht per min(all day)when you call around in Bangkok. As for 1-2 call it's more expensive like 5baht per minute depends on the period. For non regular user like you, topping up just cost u minimum 50baht so it's cost effective for u.

I tot 009 is for DTAC?? I use DTAC Happy Dprompt and I dial 009 to call SGP. You need 1-2-Call only if you are travelling out of BKK to you country, cos DTAC & Orange signal strength may be low or none at all, e.g., when I visited my tirak's mum, I got 4 signal bars for GSM AIS (same as 1-2-call) but only 1 bar for DTAC, and even then need to come out of the house and go to a specific corner at the balconey upstairs. Downstairs and at most places in the home, zero reception. To get 2 bars, I need to walk out to the main road!

Before you can actually choose the period that you want to have the promotion call i.e like between 9am to 3pm or 3pm to 7pm. But now the have the all round promo just dial *1003 and listen to the instruction then you will know how to activate the 1baht per min per call package.

Anyway its best to use prepaid card le, knn my phone bill this month dunno wat happen go phukit only 3days my phone bill $932.04 use to be $100plus only.

009 is an international call service from TOT (Telecoms Thailand) not for Dtac. Agreed that for provincial usage, Dtac and Orange are not that reliable due to their network. As for AIS why is it so reliable, guess whose the owner? Mr Taksin Shinawatra, Pm Of Thailand so of course the network must be good lah!

AIS owns DTAC. Shinwatra Corporation owns AIS. AIS also holds some shares in Singtel.

I using AIS 12 call SIM card. The rate is 4 baht per min, if u talk a lot, then a 150 baht top up card will be gone before u know it. But u can change the rate to 3 baht or 2.5 baht by calling only selective phone numbers. U need to activate it first by calling their operators.

DTAC is supposed to be cheaper I think. This stupid thai gal who used to call me all the time told me "NEUNG NATI SI BAHT..MAI BEN RAI"

But i got 1-2-call nevertheless because you get Palmy riding on a dolphin in wetsuit in their instructional booklet! haha

Trick with top-up cards...tested and proven
1. Go to 7-11 with cute counter staff
2. Buy 50 Bht top up card only if u intend to "sian" the gal
3. Tell her "MAI KAO JAI TOP UP"...give her a frown and pass her your phone..wai at her...
4. Remember to have cute wallpaper on your phone
5. Watch them go "hee hee..POKEMON (for e.g.) na!"
6. Tell them "kop kun krup....khun number hai pom dai mai?" and make pressing button action.
7. Go to step 2 and repeat if gal is shy but seems to be interested
