Girl that I met on the ferry back to SG.

This story goes back to few years ago when I was still studying in a local polytechnic. I have been invited to a birthday party in Batam. Nothing great over the birthday party though I was expecting to fish but I have too much drink that I had no stamina to flirt around.

I planned to take a early ferry back to the Lion City but having overslept due to too much alcohol intake forced me to postpone my trip back. Was quite fed up initially until I saw this girl board the ferry at the very last minute. On the ferry were another two of my friends who have been there for the party and they got to have fun with some girls over there except me who slept alone in the hotel until they woke me up. Being humiliated for missing the chance to enjoy the paradise party of Batam island was really a turn down for the whole trip.

We were smoking on the sun deck of the ferry, from far away I saw her coming from the jetty entrance at Sekupang Ferry terminal. My heart kept hoping she would board the same ferry as us. I told my two other jerks who kept making fun of me and one of them (Dave) said, "Go and get to know her lar if you dare." I took it as a challenge and replied, "I will show you that I will get to know her before ferry reached Singapore." while the ferry started to leave Sekupang terminal, I went down to the passenger deck immediately to find out where she was sitting at. Spotted. There is a empty seat just next to her. While I thought this would be an opportunity, there was this big mole crew took that seat and started to talk to her. Damn fed up and I went back to the sun deck. Every time, I finished puffing another stick of cigarette, I would come down to see if the seat would be available. Sadly, I have seen Sentosa island from the sun deck and this big mole crew was still there talking to her. Out of frustration and didnt wanna lose the opportunity for this sexy girl, I search for a pen in my bag and write down my number, nothing but my number on the left over ferry ticket. By the time, everyone had stand up and preparing to disembark the ferry even before the ferry reached harbor front. After seeing big mole crew was no longer there, I managed to squeezed through, reached her seat, she turned her face to me and smile (damn sexy lips). I gave the paper to her and gave her a call me sign. Too shy to talk to her, I left.

Oh ya, she was tall, slim and fair for a seem like Malay girl.

Again, I was mocked by my friends for failing to know her while disembarking the ferry. I was waiting for her call eagerly.

Just as per normal, I reached home and I thought she wouldnt be calling me. Where got such thing of you give the girl a piece of paper that written your phone number but without any proper intro etc, the girl would call you.

Okay, I thought it's just another fail attempt. I was having dinner at that time then my brother shouted at me from our room and say that my phone is ringing. I wasn't expecting it was from her honestly. I saw the number from the phone, it started with +628xxxxxxxxx. It was voice of a girl, obviously. "I was the girl that got a paper from a guy in the ferry this afternoon. Are you the one? Or it's just a scam?" I was estatic to hear that in the mean time I needed to control my emotion as I was at home. "no, I mean no, it's not a scam" I answered. "I am the guy who pass you the paper with my phone number."

She told me her name is Yopi, she is from Jakarta. She was here for holiday and and she had stayed a few days in batam to visit some of her friends there. Then she told me that she had not eaten since lunch, asking me if I was free to pack a simple local food for her to the hotel as she was too lazy and tired to walk out of the hotel room.

After about a minutes or two of short convo, we agreed to talk more in her hotel. Yay, I went to bath, wash myself as clean as possible. And proceed to BTK chicken rice nearby to pack a packet of local famous chicken rice for her while heading to the hotel she was staying at Bugis Area.

Upon reaching the hotel, I swear that I was damn nervous as that was the first and only time I know a girl by giving her a paper to call me. Haha... That scene is still well saved in the memory in my head.

Pressing the room bell, suddenly the door open and there she's standing with a white silky night wear. Not a very sexy pajama yet she looked damn good in it. "Hi, still remember me?" i asked. "errr... Sorry, if I can't then I would not be calling you." while in the room, I saw a tray with a plate of fried rice and orange juice that seemed to be ordered from hotel. "you ordered your dinner?" I asked again. "Ya, I thought you won't be coming and I was really hungry. Sorry. But what have you brought for me?" she answered.

me: chicken rice. One of the most famous chicken rice here."
Yopi: oh, I have heard of it in Indonesia. Can I not eat the fried rice and eat chic rice that you bought for me?
Me: sure. I bought for you, anyway.
yopi: thank you (smile and gimme a thank you kiss. I was like, what the hell. A chicken rice for a kiss? Will I get more?
