I need some information on reasonable hotels in shanghai priced around sin$60-90...urgently.I sincerely hope that friendly and frequent visitors and brothers to Shanghai out there can provide some useful information.My stay there would be for 2 weeks(est)..for new business oppourtunties ..

it really depend on where you are going to spend most of your time in ie. in pudong or in puxi, and even in puxi which district...the traffic in shanghai can be pretty bad during rush hours and no point wasting time or money stuck in the jam...

you can try this site www.ctrip.com which give you much information and choice....definitely lower than walk-in rate.

There is a well managed service apt along Zhang Jiang Lu at Pudong. The min rate for a single is abt RMB400 plus per nite. The contact num is 21-58555566. The actual location is at 625 Zhang Jiang Lu, the apt is Hong Der Zhu Tian.

I like service apartment. Cam you recommend one in Puxi ???

I used to stay in Ascot-Somerset.@ US$100 per night for 2room. I think there be some "more cost effective" service apartment around.

Is a good site to find a hotel it also has a good map of Shanghai You need to know which area you want to be in as traffic can be a problem and getting a taxi at peek time can also be hard.

I have stayed there several times and was one of the early visitors when it was barely ready. Quite convenient in terms of location. Rooms are okay although I think the shoddy fittings are beginning to show. Used to only cost S$70 per day for a standard room with queen bed. Price has increased though but still remains a good value due to outstanding location.

If you have a local there to book the hotel, you can get a really good deal for approx RMB 100 per day - but dun expect 5 star service. It will be slightly worse than Hotel 81 ..but hey..it's only S$20 per day.
