Starhub lagging at SBF?

Not sure if this is the correct section to post or not. Any bros experiencing very slow network speed under network carrier Starhub? Will take forever to load a thread (<3mins). This only started happening recently , like 1 week ago.

I tried under singtel network, no such problem. However, if i use anoymous proxy with Starhub to get in here everything loads very fast.

This looks quite similar to how my company use to limit network bandwidth on certain sites to discourage staff from going in certain sites


Any bros experiencing same as me? or am i the only one If only me i think my network cock up liao haiz. Not that i mind using anoymous proxy to get in, but of course coming in normally is much more faster.

In case anyone wondering what is anoymous proxy, its a site whereby they mask your ip to let you surf websites generally that are been blocked. eg: i am able surf MDA restricted sites. One example is Online Anonymous Proxy

i have been facing the same problem since 2 days back using wireless connection. no problem with other site.

If i connect direct via cable , it is faster.

Starhub is on shared bandwidth, so you can expect slowness in peak time especially school holiday where a lot of school going kids spend more time online playing games.

SBF Images just never load and I can never get pass the forum home page

I don\'t think is has anything to do with lagging, it\'s some sort of deterrent to visit certain sites.

use a proxy to access....

Yeah, I faced the same trouble past few months ago..using StarHub. I thot my notebook got virus, tried another Notebook..same problem..tried a Desktop..same trouble ! During that time, it was hard to give pts to Bros who shared ctc ..so distressing, but Now, suddenly, all back to normal fast speed. I guess, randomly each location is being targetted to discourage ppl from visiting this memorable website..haha

The fact that surfing thru proxy solves the so-call lagging problem (loads fast) means it\'s not an issue with different time of the day.

SBF site must have been included in some QOS priority (or the lack of) list such that it gets the least bandwidth when traffic is heavy.

Good thing my contract has ended.

wah liao... starhub lag? recently singtel wireless broadband also super lag, cant even open email.... from monday to friday 6pm-12mn, and weekend. Now can only log in after 11pm-12mn
