See a doctor first. Ususally they give medication, if the swelling dont goes down, then there is a need to investigate more. Like cheong kid says, dont play play, better see a doctor asap. Make an appointment asap. Not trying to scare you, but for your own good.

Re: Lymph Nodes
Hi:
There are several lymph nodes on your neck, front and back and sides. At the same time there are thyroid glands. And there are also small muscles that can start cramping up due to tension—particularly on the back of the neck very close to lymph nodes that may seem like lymph node swelling for us who are not doctors. In the case where the person feels such muscles due to tension but does not seek a doctor's examination and opinion, he will get even more worried continuing to think those are swollen lymph nodes and add to the tension that causes the muscle spasm to remain there longer thus adding to his worries and thus extending the period of the 'swelling' (that is, "cramping"). The best thing to do to avoid this vicious cycle is to see a good doctor, tell him your risk factors, and ask him to examine your lymph nodes properly. If you cannot see your current doctor and be completely honest with him about your risk factors—find another good doctor who you can be honest with, and then tell him everything and to examine everything. To address your question more directly. Lymph nodes swell for a variety of reasons—most of the time for a viral infection. Having said that, I must add that a shitload of viruses can and do cause swollen lymph nodes. By the way, there are lymph nodes elsewhere on your body, among them your armpits, the inner side of your thighs by your groin. I hope you share your findings with us about your lymph nodes etc once you've seen the doctor. Quote:

Re: Lymph Nodes
Interesting. It's been more than two weeks since this thread was started. I guess we know how forthcoming BTech is with answers and info. Not as forthcoming as he is with questions, I guess.

That's all I wanted to know lah! That you're fine. You keep silent like this, people wonder and--I in particular--worry like hell, man!
So antibiotics, and you're fine? Good for you lah. Anyway, in case you didn't get my earlier posting, the lymph nodes are not something we can normally feel, and there are so many muscles and glands around the neck area that only a doctor will be able to tell if what's enlarged or swollen. Take care, lah. Glad to hear you're well. --perry Quote:
