Are Thai ladies more open to selling their bodies?

This is a question I’ve been pondering for the longest time. Now that I can’t sleep here it is:

Why are there seemingly more Thai ladies selling themselves than say, other South East Asian ladies? Think Philippines, Cambodia, Laos, Myanmar, Indonesiasns etcÂ… Certainly itÂ’s not a matter of poverty since they’re definitely not by any measure the poorest in the region, but they have a whole Dome 1 dedicated to them.

China yes of course, throughout history there seems to be those historical brothels from the Middle Kingdom and of course they’re the most populous country. But Thailand? And plus they keep producing WLs too over the years with fresh supply. In the late 90s-early 2000s there were many Msian WLs but these have really become much rarer as compared to their thai counterparts which have pretty much maintained their numbers I guess?

Does someone have an educated viewpoint or an intelligent theory about this?
Are Thai ladies lazier? Do they value their bodies less? Are they more materialistic? Do they have more sick parents/siblings/children/cows/goats fill in the blanks…. Do they enjoy sex? more open as a society? What is it?

Might be the wrong place to ask this, but oh well. I couldn’t possibly ask this during CNY conversations or house warmings.

Which begs the question. Why they have so many friends or even family whom are ok to sell their bodies?

Got demand at the right price, will have supply. Buyers look for best bang for buck. Sellers look for best buck for bang. When price meet, there is transaction.

culturally, thais are lazy and driven by material wants.

this is of course true for a lot of countries around us, so I would say it’s down to opportunities and luck. opportunities as there is a big sex industry in thailand compared to malaysia vietnam or cambodia.

a lot of young girls, in their 20s, look at instagram and wonder why they don’t have the diors and pradas. interestingly, social media users in thailand is the largest group in SEA, wonder why.

they are then open to selling sex in their hometown via kapoo or gentlemen club while studying, after awhile they realise they can buy that dior faster if provide full service in SG.

Just 2 bits from personal observation:The Thai people have this saying “jai yen yen” , which is very reflective of their laidback attitude to life. From festivities like Song Kra its not difficult to tell having fun is very much cultural. Even non WL Thai ladies like to party & have multiple boyfriends. Not that unusual that some of the more open minded ones even have boyfriends outside of their marriage. Due to the combination of local shamanism-animism with Buddhism they are also rather superstitious, in touch with their spiritual side & respect rank / authority. Belief in affinity & destinies probably has some part to play here too. The no of drunk driving accidents is very high in Thailand, so perhaps having fun & enjoying trumps a boring life for many Thai people.

I sort of agree that is partly cultural only in the sense that it may be easier for thai women to ease back into normal life and pick up where they left off after their stint in sex work is over. They do it to earn money regardless to buy material goods or quickly build up capital to start a small business. And how many of us who have patronised dome 1 heard of the story of the ailing father/grandpa / grandma or the buffalo and they are doing this to pay the medical bills?

I know at least one thai fl that is married with 2 kids but did a couple of tours in singapore and korea before returning back to normal life. So their society sort of accept it - what is known but never said out loud.

However, being open to selling body is no longer majority thai women these days; there are also plenty of china and vietnamese ladies. Working in massage spa is already selling body in a sense that they allow customers to fondle them. Maybe more are coming to singapore as we have a reputation in south east asia for being sex-less, deprived nation Even milf of 30 or 40+ can make a quick buck whereby in their home countries not many would want to patronise them (too old for the scene).
