Re: Hotel/Accomodation experience

U will be incredibly unlucky if u got a hotel that is not guest friendly, especially in the tourist cites such as Bangkok. As advised, always book for 2 people.

How discreet is the Sofitel? The pictures seem like a busy and large open lobby to bring a girl back to your room.

I stayed once if I remember correctly,It has a backdoor entrance from the skytrain bridge, but not sure if they close it at some point at night, but the lobby was quite “discreet” as the reception was tucked away on a corner

Re: Hotel/Accomodation experience

Hotel S15 is near Themae and near Asoke BTS, price is also cheaper than the nearby 4/5 stars. I assume it's older in furnishings but it's quite worth it for the convenience and price. Mine came with free breakfast which was also reasonably good. Definitely girl friendly.

Re: Hotel/Accomodation experience

I do not think Thai hotels has problem with their customers bringing in guests.

Unless you stay in a 5 star hotel and your guests dressed very poorly prompted to see you on their own, the hotel staffs may want to confirm with you first.
If they come in with you, then no problem.

Re: Hotel/Accomodation experience

Most of the time I am there for work. I am a very street person, meaning, I love hoping onto bikes instead of hotel transport or taxis. I also love the BTS, taking in all of Bangkok vibe.

9 out of 10 stays are in Chitlom district.
- Waldorf Astoria
- Renaissance Bangkok Ratchaprasong

So far I've never been stopped taking a girl or two up. One request that I make to the lady or ladies is for them to dress less eye catching.

It was very clear that the hotel staff esp the bell boy, they know exactly what was happening.

If I'm with one lady, depending one where we are coming from, I normally toss my blazer over her shoulders and we walk in discreetly.

Being a regular with my hotels, two other things I always do:
- in my room, I write a thank you note with a tip for housekeeping (if my timing doesn't allow me to see them)
- bellboy, always always give a slightly better tip. Trust me, it goes a long way. The other one would be the concierge as well. The amount of information, insights, tips I get in returned is well worth it.

Last year, a last minute booking bumped me to Hyatt Place at Sukhumvit Soi 24. There was a launch I had to be present at Emsphere and it was for two nights in Bangkok. I didn't want to get caught in the traffic given the priority of my event. During my stayz same thing, coming back to the hotel with my guest, no issues.

Generally being discreet does help alot.

Re: Hotel/Accomodation experience

I stayed at a hotel in Sukhumvit a while back that was pretty solid for what you're looking for. The hotel was right between NEP and Thermae, so it was convenient for getting around. I had a bit of luck finding a place that was both comfortable and friendly to guests.

As for Key Premier Sukhumvit, I haven’t stayed there, but when I was booking my last trip, I found that calling directly often gave me more information than email. Sometimes hotels are quicker to respond to phone inquiries.

Also, if you’re looking for something that feels a bit more upscale, I had a great experience flying business class on a trip and staying at a hotel that was a step up in terms of comfort and service. Maybe consider checking out reviews or forums for recent guest experiences to find a place that suits your needs.

I stayed that the Ruamchitt Plaza Hotel for a week once which is very very close to Thermae.

It wasn't to bad but I was amused desk staff are normal of a day but of a night avoid eye contact.

It was exactly the same time every day and all staff would stop looking at you. Of a day though the same staff would look at you, say hello and converse.

I was also amused that the paper in the room outlining hotel features even said something like "dodgy cafe under the hotel".

Now I joke with my friends when looking at hotel features pool, restaurant, basement brothel.

Re: Hotel/Accomodation experience

To book a hotel is actually how you want to focus your activity, as Bangkok is quite an expanded area and there is no particularly dedicated area for a certain activity.

For an easy access to most attraction, you may want to stay along the skytrain track. Siam square and Sukhumvit would be best.

However, Ratchada will give you easy access to both soapy massage and freelances (if you have access to certain platforms) and most Thai girls do like serving foreigners.

If you stay on the Chao Phraya river, you will have access to river boat which is easy to take you along cultural attractions, such as Wat Arun, the Royal palace, etc.

Bangkok traffic is very bad during rush hours, so try to avoid it if possible and Grab will be an easy way to travel around.

Re: Hotel/Accomodation experience

Just came back from BKK last week, I booked Aira Hotel for 3 nights, which is 5mins walking distance to Thermae. Everyday bring different girl back which got no issue, the only problem is there is a pub near hotel, so it will be quite noisy until late night.
