Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Sorry but need to get this off my chest

Whatever our players may think, they need to take responsibility. That's now the fourth time in the last two seasons we've let United and Everton (both God awful teams) turn up and ruin our day while we're in a title race. The players really need to ask themselves why these teams desire to derail our season outweighs ours to go and lift the title.

It's a serious question and the only way to explain why we've seen it four times now in the space of about 8 months. It's becoming a pattern and quite frankly doesn't cover our boys in a good light. Everton and United who are for 90% of the season horrendous teams can't just decide to "turn up" against us and because they've turned up today, we're now incapable of beating them. That's not acceptable.

This is the issue that annoys me most, and this issue differentiates us from being a good side to becoming a great side

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Arne Slot has been handed a two-match ban for “using offensive, insulting, or abusive language” towards referee Michael Oliver after last night’s Merseyside derby. He will be absent from the touchline for Liverpool’s games against Wolves and Aston Villa

I’d love to know what Slot said, because it barely looks like he says two words to Oliver before Oliver reaching for a red card

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Man City seemed to have won the case regarding the 115 charges. Things will be a mess now with clubs possibly suing the league. Probably means FSG will sell the club as they have no way to fight the billions from Saudi Arabia.

On a separate note, we have to win tonight. Any win will do. Can't believe Newcastle got thrashed 4-0 by Man City

Damn stupid that FA is charging MC and then declared null and void. This proves FA is incompetence.

Well Liverpool can only do what they can and that's win games.

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Good result. Terrible performance. Andy Robertson shouldn't be starting so often. Glad we have the 3 points. Seems like there will be a period of 34 days where we only have 1 EPL game. We need to maintain the 7 point gap

Job done and we need to win another 11 games to finish the job.

Don't think need 11 wins. We are top of the league not because we are better than last season. It's just that this season every other team is dropping more points than usual. Arsenal will continue to drop points when you least expect it. They are doing better now because the CL is on hiatus for them.

The Financial Fairplay was introduced at a time when teams began to borrow money to fund their expenses. Man U, Liverpool (Hicks and Gillet time), Barcelona, Real Madrid, the italian teams etc. So the expenses cannot be more than a portion of the revenue. Given that loan repayment is an expense, Financial Fairplay's use of a cap based on revenue means teams cannot keep borrowing.

Then comes the oily owners who use their cash to buy clients and fund expenses. Given that they have no loan repayment, the cap based of revenue means there is a limit of how much they can spend to improve their team. The Middle Eastern owners buy teams like Man City and Newcastle with lower revenues than the top 6. This becomes an issue because it breaches the European rules. Now sibeh messy already. Borrowing to spend money is financially irresponsible. Spending money you already have isn't financially irresponsible.

The Premier League will try to set rules based on the majority of the 20 EPL clubs but these rules will continue to be challenged in court because the oily owners want unrestricted ways to spend their money.

KNN. Man City thrashed Newcastle 4-0 because their Jan recruit scored a hat trick. Man City spent $150 million pounds in Jan. Moving ahead, the oily owners will just continue to buy their way to success. Football will just get more and more expensive. Will there be a point Liverpool can no longer compete financially because we don't have a sugar daddy?

He is a disruptor. He doesn't care about tradition, fan based etc. He bought Twitter and sacked 80% of staff. Twitter (or X now) is worth 80% lesser than when he first bought it and he is still the 2nd richest man alive.

He will be a bad owner

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

3 points after the emotion of Weds is all that matters

Poor second half performance but we had a few of these nervy ones in 19/20 like Brighton, Villa, Palace, Leicester where we won by the odd goal

That said, it's the first time on record (since 2003-04) that Liverpool failed to attempt a shot in an entire half of football in a PL game at Anfield

One more win which makes it harder for Arsenal - I think Slot will have to switch things up for the Villa game next and hopefully Gapko is fit again as well

Nunez was shit, so too Robbo and Trent. Endo and Quansah really stood up for us though, well done lads. Have to say that was a sublime finish by Cunha

Again have to get this off my chest, sorry guys

What I don’t get though is why Jota chose to take that dive when all he had left to do was slot the ball past the keeper for a goal and make it 3-0???

Actually think Jota had three options - score, let it run to Diaz for a tap in or dive.

Mindboggling decision??!!

End on a lighter note since we have moved back to our 7 point lead, lol

Emery and Pep both hate Arsenal so maybe they will play weaker teams against us

Hey a man can dream

Actually I feel Jota wasn't thinking of diving. He was thinking of avoiding injury. He has been injured so often you can see him avoiding the 50-50 challenges. In this case, the way this defender slide in... this defender ended up injuring himself. If Jota didn't pull back, he may be out for many games again. Jota is rusty in this game.

Emery claims his squad has injury issues. Pep needs to play his best team against Newcastle, then Real Madrid (away) before meeting us. I feel almost every team has more injuries this season. I suspect it's because there's so many international games this season. CL also 2 more matches (8 games) before 1st knockout stage.

I found this online. I didn't verify it but seems credible. This is our points EPL total after 25 matches.

18/19: 62 points
19/20: 73 points
20/21: 40 points (must be that Centre Defender crisis season)
21/22: 57 points
22/23: 42 points
23/24: 57 points
24/25: 60 points

We are not doing unusually well. It's just that this season all the other big teams are doing badly. Like in the season Leicester won the league. Man U and Spurs are shockingly bad this year. Chelsea and Man City are performing worse than they should.

Arsenal is dropping more points than last year and their response is to play mind games with us because they are performing below expectation. Hello, if you need to buck up, just suck it up and play better lah. You come kaopeh liverpool for what? Not as if we cause you to perform poorly right? Nabeh your brain gooner or goondu?

Re: Liverpool Fc @ Anfield - Reds Supporters Gatherings

Thank you very much for the interesting post bro

Your take on Jota's dive is intriguing and you just might be on to something. No doubt about his injury issues and the fact that he is rusty. Just suspicious because them Portuguese players real tricky dickies, lol

Villa game is huge. Seems like Gakpo is still out together with Gomez. Agree with Slot though, every game now is a big one. We shall deal with City after getting over Villa, fingers crossed. Hope Slot is ok because he looked very tired at the pre Villa press conference

Those stats you posted are really interesting bro. Think your analysis is just about right. This is why I shall be shattered if the Reds do not go on and win the PL this season. Nothing else matters. Best opportunity for us to get another PL. Next season is going to be a whole new ball game, starting with the probable return of City.

As for Arsenal, guess a lot now depends on that young wonderkid of theirs, Nwaneri, and another chap called Mikel, lol

As for the Reds, they need to believe as it is still in our hands and just go out there and win the PL

3 games in 9 days determined Liverpool title credentials.

Starting tomorrow at Aston Villa.
Sunday or Monday morning at Man City.
Then finally home to Newcastle.
