Why does IMDA keep blocking my site?

Like those online news sites that host controversial articles, they cannot rely on the argument that they are merely providing the hosting service; they are actually enabling the content to reach many other people.

In the recent mass rape court case of that old lady in france, the online forum "coco.fr" where like-minded men met and shared such fantasies, came under the spotlight - although in all fairness, the forum is just a site for hosting the conversations. As a host they are held responsible for moderating all the postings before publishing.

News sites are considered to be "publishers". Forums don't publish stuff they merely provide a platform for the exchange of ideas.

Of course there is a case to be made either way which is how the lawyers make their money.

There are about 4000 posts daily in this forum. If I were to moderate the content I'd have a backlog of about a zillion posts by now.

In November 2019, Home Affairs and Law Minister K Shanmugam told Parliament that the police and Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA) regularly block vice websites targeting Singaporeans, with 202 such websites blocked as of then.

Ms Azeera Ali from IRB Law said that the IMDA does not monitor or track users’ access to online sites, though it maintains a “symbolic ban” on a list of about 100 websites. Most of them are pornographic in nature and contain harmful content like child sexual abuse material.

When the term symbolic ban is used, don't think there is a way around it. Its their way of saying we have done what we can, we do not tolerate nor accept it but cannot do much else.

What I find particularly hypocritical in the article is that things that are not associated with SBF, gets lumped together with SBF by the virtue of being "online cyberworld".

What I am curious is, are there similar sites like SBF for other countries ?
If there are, how are they treated ?
I do vaguely remember 141 for Hong Kong, but not sure how the vice trade in HK is.

They should spend more time and effort in blocking those links to scam phishing websites instead.
