7.50pm, finally cleared the fucking jam, zoomed down to J8 and I reached about 8.10pm. Parked and walked over to CB&TL.

Honestly, I forgot how Bernice looked like already. I had to take out my cell and call her, see whose phone rang and identify her as Bernice.

In the far corner, table for 4, I saw movement. A lady hurriedly picked up her phone and started looking towards the entrance of the cafe. Ah! Silly me, her ERA lanyard was a giveaway, how hard was it for me to not realise it?

Meticulous as I usually was, probably due to being exhausted from work, didn't notice her lanyard.

Bernice stood up, clean white tee-shirt and a long slim jeans with her hair kiaped by a clip behind her neck.

Usually it's a gentleman that stands up while his partner arrives to get seated, Bernice is doing it to me now, feels awkward.

Fiddled with my phone and soon Bernice came back. For the first time I saw her up close and noticed her looks was some what motherly, big eyes. The impression she gave me was she's a homemaker doing this part time.

She came back with 2 tall cups.

I usually do not accept such gestures before the deal is closed as I don't want to leech off agents (insurance, housing etc). I guess to them, such treats are part of their services to start something with customers.

Taking the latte, I stirred gently and then took a quick sip. Bernice took lead in the conversation.




B: What sort of HDB are you keen? Who will be staying with you? Wife and kids?

gog: Eh, if I'm married, I would have brought my wife, right?

B: Oh.

It was awkward. Silence.

A server walked over with two plates of food and placed them down. A pizza and sandwiches.





B: I thought you might be hungry as you haven't had dinner.

Thoughtful, and she' s right. I kind of let my stomach take over my head and decided to hear Bernice out.





B: Can I know where you intend to purchase?

gog: I would prefer somewhere like XXX, XXX or XXX.

B: You want high or lower floors?

I was busy chewing onto the pizza when she asked and got me deep into thoughts. Which one is ideal, I would prefer higher but if the lift breaks, then I'll have to climb a lot. If too low, pedestrians, cars, coffeeshops would make it noisy.
