of course still need. esp first time before sex. after periodically can liao. dsc is not so expensive. but prob is you have to go back for paper cert.

also consider if you want to skip herpes test if you're testing for the first time. reason is because you can be a virgin and still test positive for herpes. which makes it very hard to explain.

rule of thumb, no cold sores, no symptoms, traceable sexual history, no need test for herpes.

herpes spread by saliva and can lay dormant for years. you might have gotten herpes when you're 5 yo by some random auntie kissing you and totally unaware.
