despite 8 out 10 gave bad reviews and yet last time you could go there week in week out.....

my collection of passport stamp on riau island is still short of the one in Batu and have been long intending to go there since 2000....but then, alway NATO...in between, 3 of my regular cheong kakis who i know them well, went there on 3 separate occasions and all vowed never return.......

i guess, my collection of riau islands' stamp will not be competed for a while to go....

Hmm...y not? But have to agree with u Batu had lost its charm. The last time I cheong there was Yr 2000, I tink. Nice place to relax. Ceweks limited. Now only 1 trip on wkdays. It speaks volume. Balai still the best.

went there 2 years ago. many retired guys there.

a quiet place to cheong with not much nightlife.

hotel gambira have a swimming pool, seafood eating area and a massage place. and walking distance to chicken farm.

nvr went to city hotel so cnt report. hear there is a chicken farm near the hotel also.

I guess your collection of riaus' stamp will never be completed.....give batu a miss FOREVER la....it is a dying place.....went there in mar this year....I walked the whole damn kampong and only 2 ceweks can make it (in terms of youth and figure).....the rest were mature ladies or pork chops.....maybe you have unique taste and prefer ML or PC.....

for hotel, I stayed in gembira hotel and I will say that even gembira hotel is unstayable (of comparable standard to 21 century of balai).....there was cockroaches in the room.....and stray dogs all over the hotel....when you turned on the damn tap in the hotel room, the water was initially brown but after a while, it would turn white....for the damn toilet, there was no flushing system at all....can you imagine how backward the damn island was...it is a place for ah pek to go there and simpan cewek la.....in fact when I was there for two nights, the old man staying next to me was keeping a mistress and his mistress bore him two kids.......

the food was damn lousy.....I ate inside the hotel and outside as well....no doubt the food as well as the hotel was cheap, the comfort level was not there at all....

the booking fee for cewek was expensive.....for the two can-make-it ceweks that I mentioned above, the booking fee was rp500k....and trust me on this.....they were of the same standard as the average cewek that you find in Batam and Balai.....

Hmmmm...I been there many times. But tat was many yrs back. I was juz wondering how come no recent or latest Frs. I suppose it spells the end of Batu.

Anyway, u should have stay at Pelangi, stone throw away fm Jetty. I never fancy Gembira Hotel..too deep in and dirty.
