Where to Get Good Live Show in BKK?

Will be in BKK from 26 - 30 April 2006. Putting up in Narai Hotel (very near PP). Any bro got good and safe (not the ripoff type) when one can get good life show (Ping pong, tiger, etc etc). How about places line Nana Plaza? Are they as good as PP? I've frieds that was forced to pay something like 1600 b for live show or else, not able to leave the premises. Really scared man Alternatively, is it better to get a tourguide to bring me around?

'Live' Tiger shows had been banned in Bangkok since Thaksin became the Prime Minisdter of Thailand about 5 years ago.

aiya....in patpong be careful and few things to remember..
-don't simply follow touts no matter what they promise U
-better go with a Thai or a bro who is familiar.
-go into crowded bars where there are lots of customers, foreigners and not too far inside.
-don't stay long and leave when U see only a few customers left 'cos if U R only customers left, U may get cornered when they lock door and present U with big bill !

Lots of foreigners. Paid 300b for beer+entry fee. The gals will very now and then ask for tips.
Verdict: Horrible....The performing gals were mostly fat and not lookable. The good looking ones were the lady boys, haha.
What was a turn off was not the unattractive gals but the poor working conditions of the gals and sleaziness of the places.

I hear there are still some tiger shows but deep inside and can be dangerous unless U go with someone familiar.

and yeah DONT BELIEVE what the touts said, we were tricked into super pussy as the tout said no cover charge and if not happy can just leave (our 1st time in a go go bars) , so we went , sat down a little and they asked what we wanna drink, we ordered beer (100baht) , 5 min after that they showed us a slip that said we need to pay cover charge for the fucking pussy show , which is 300baht. We mentioned what the touts said but they insisted we have to pay, even we wanted to leave on the spot. looking at the ugly bitches doing stunts is not even erotic at all and makes us feel like puking.

the last straw was some performing bitch came over to me and chatted me up, i ignored her but she keep talking and started to give me a massage even i say no. Asked me to buy her a beer , and i didnt have enough change (i had 500baht) I thought that would chase her off by buying a beer for her and she promised to return the change, in which she DIDNT. that totally sucks.

I personally would recommend Ice Bar at Rachadaphisek. Its aint a a go go bar though, jus a pub . The girls are friendly and much much much prettier than the shitty ones at patpong. you can hug and play with them at the pub,only catch is that they dont provide extra services. Near to the closing , some girls would go up on the stage to co-ordinated dance . Spent around 3000baht with 2 other friends there in total.

Crackdown urged on lewd shows in wats

The National Buddhism Office and the Sangha Council have stepped up measures to ensure temple fairs are free of obscene and indecent shows, including striptease.

Abbots who allow lewd shows to take place in temple compounds could face disciplinary action under the Sangha Council's 1994 regulations which prohibit such shows on temple territory, they said.

At the same time, organisers of the indecent activities would also face legal action for arranging the obscene shows in violation of the criminal law.

Boonsri Panajit, acting director of the National Buddhism Office, said the agency had received many public complaints and a senate panel on education, religions, arts and culture has demanded more concrete measures to deal with the problem.

Ms Boonsri said the agency had held talks with the Sangha Council and agreed to issue an order instructing the provincial Buddhism offices to stop monks from allowing indecent activities on temple grounds.

She urged communities around the temples to help monitor temple fairs to ensure they are free of obscene shows.

She noted that initial reports indicated that obscene shows were mostly being allowed in temples located in remote areas.

Ms Boonsri pointed out that most of the shows which took place did not have the permission of the temple abbots.

Somsak Yiemsawat, director of Samut Sakhon Buddhism Office, said the agency normally received an average of two complaints a month on the staging of obscene shows at temples in the province. The shows, in which young female dancers were in revealing dresses, mostly took place late at night, he said.

He also expressed concern over alcohol sales on temple grounds which led to brawls among young fair-goers when they got drunk.

Mr Somsak conceded that it was not going to be an easy task to crack down on such activities as most complaints were unsigned and carried no contact addresses.

More importantly, it would be almost impossible to catch the organisers red-handed as most shows ended before the proper authorities arrived.

"By the time we receive the complaints, the shows have already ended," he said.
