Canvas tent collapses on SMRT bus along Eu Tong Sen Street
AsiaOneTuesday, Dec 09, 2014

SINGAPORE - Traffic was disrupted along Eu Tong Sen street on Tuesday afternoon after a blue canvas tent collapsed onto an SMRT bus.

Public transport operator SMRT said that the incident occurred to bus service 961 around 12.40pm near the bus stop in front of People's Park Complex.

A makeshift tent was displaced from an elevated position, reported The Straits Times.

No one was hurt in the incident and SMRT made arrangements for the 25 passengers to be transferred to another bus that was plying the route.

Police said the incident caused a slight traffic jam but no further police assistance was required.

SMRT vice-president of corporate information and communications Patrick Nathan said: "As a precaution, the affected bus was routed back to its interchange for detailed inspections."
