Speaking on the Channel 8 news programme Hello Singapore, Senior Minister of State for Finance and Transport Josephine Teo said yesterday (25 Aug) that the response to the new off-peak monthly travel pass has been good. About 10,000 commuters bought the pass last month, she happily revealed. The pass, which costs $80 for adults, was launched on Jun 28. It offers unlimited travel on rail services and basic bus services during off-peak hours. What does the 10,000 figure represent? What was the target? As a percentage of the total number of commuters during the the off-peak hours, what does the 10,000 figure represent?
