Thaksin henceforth....

Now that the King has publicly endorsed the Coup. Thaksin's fate is sealed....

a) ZERO FUTURE POLITICAL ROLE
In life.... people quickly forget the many good that one has done, often choosing only to focus on the latest wrong that has been commited. Despite all that Thaksin has done during his brief reign, he will be labelled a Tyrant and Corrupt Dictator... simply unforgiveable given the fact that most people felt that he wanted to appear BIGGER than the King God.

Thaksin is a great political chess player (Thai rules) but has met his Waterloo against an even greater adversary.... King God himself.

Some say that he has the Billions,... hence can make a come back...

b) DEPLETING FINANCIAL RESERVES
Read between the lines of Coup Leader when he says that Thaksin's Billions will not be confiscated.... what is happening now is that Thaksin has NOT LOST his Billions.... but simply that he CANNOT move or use them because they are FROZEN pending investigations. Make no mistake, Thaksin still has Billions.... but only in name.

It was masterful (Sun Tze style) when i read that the Coup Leader is presently soliciting (courting) a High Court Judge and Governer of Central Bank for the post of Interim PM. Simply by doing so, Coup Leaders have raised the credibility and elevated these 2 individuals to "Hero' status in the eyes 60 million Thais. Wow, what an honor for them..... in return, am sure that these 2 will pledge allegience and even die for the cause.
Thence,... Bank Governer will reveal the entire financial assets of Thaksin empire both in Thailand and those outside of the country.... and with the stroke of a pen can FREEZE them forever.
The High Court Judge can and will be asked to determine what, which, how and when... laws has been broken, tested or bend by Thaksin in an effort ultimately to culminate the quick political demise of Thaksin now and forever...

c) DIMINISHING REPUTATION
With the arrest and detention of former Deputy PMs, close aides, croonies and relatives of Thaksin.... here comes the fun part of 'playing poker' and 'mind games'.
No matter how good/close their relationship with Thaksin, no matter how loyal they were, no matter how strong their belief and conviction..... ULTIMATELY, one by one will based on animal instinct and a greater sense of self-survival.... start to 'sell out' Thaksin, begin to 'sing like a bird' and turn prosecution witness in exchange for immunity from conviction. More importantly, they get to keep their mega-millions that they have gained from their close relationhsip with Thaksin. In short, they will crucify Thaksin and feed him to the wolves....


d) FAST EVAPORATING OPTIONS
Thaksin basically has 2 options....

Option 1 = stay away, live in exile and in disgrace on the miilions (NOT BILLIONS) that he has accumulated and kept outside of Thailand and out of the reach of the Thai Government.

or

Option 2 = pay the price for a one way ticket to return to Thailand. MAKE NO MISTAKE, it will come at a VERY HIGH PRICE.
Consider this scenario.... with mounting evidence and allegations against him (derived from sources described in para c)..... Thaksin will have to negotiate and pay 'toll' for each kilometer of the journey home.
For example,... lets say that he has USD10B....

- to have a evidence wiped clean for bribing the education ministry: cost US100m
- to have a evidence wiped clean for bribing the law minsitry: cost US200m
- to have a evidence wiped clean for bribing the defense ministry: US500m
etc
etc
etc.... ULTIMATELY, he will have to use his ENTIRE FINANCIAL EMPIRE in an attempt to try to wipe the slate clean but alas...

e) PRISON TERM
Should he decide to return..... he will have to go straight to the Royal Palace, seek audience with the King,... admit to wrong doing, show remorse and beg for benevolence and FORGIVENESS.

The King will off course 'forgive' him but not grant a 'pardon'..... meaning that Thaksin will be absolved of capital punishment wrong-doing and 'perhaps' charged with a minor 'mis-governance' or 'tax evation'... bottom line, maybe a jail term of no more than 3 years

f) CONCLUSION
Win, WIN, WIN, WIN, WIN, WIN, win

WIN for the KING for his GOD like understanding, benevolence, patience in handling earthly turmoil and chaos

WIN for the Coup Leaders as they ride away into history as the great White Knights in Shining Armour

WIN for the country of Thailand as the Thaksin Billions will be recirculated into the economy (of the powers to be)

WIN for the people of Thailand as there is again peace, harmony, songkla and lots of sex

WIN for the traitors of Thaksin as they go back into ordinary life and lavish for generations to come

WIN for Thaksin as he gets away with a slap on his wrist and 'perhaps' serve out his prison sentence in an air-con cell furnished with plasma TV while planning a possible coup of his own for a 'hostile take over' of Liverpool FC.... albeit in disgrace, bankrupt, broken dreams of what could have been.

win for me.... coz i have been very fortunate to have so many patient Bros read my 'hot air' regarding the matter.

Military in power very dangerous. Once they impose martial law or curfew then kiss all the nightlife goodbye. This scenerio not impossible.

Hi

I am now in BKK and enjoying myself. No evidence of any coup, except some soldier standing guard along some intersection.

Life is as per normal.

Talk to some local and it should be ok until next week, prior to the announcement of the new PM. Things would start getting nasty when:
1. Taksin decided to take couteraction, which is unlikely wth the king not on his side.
2. If the junta do not produce anything as promise. IE, new PM by next tuesday,

So, if you are still planning to visit BKK, do so prior to next Tuesday, or wait until the new PM and his team is in place
