Thanks for the advice, don't worry I won't drive in Asia! You think China is bad, you should drive in Seoul, Korea! In Seoul, there are so many cars and not enough roads/street, drivers make their lanes! Interms of statistics, Sourth Korea has one of the most deaths due to traffic accidents! I want to live until 85, by that time my ding ding will be so old and wrinkled that it won't get up, so I don't mind going to heaven! Until then, I want to enjoy my life to the fullest so I won't drive in Asia, just hire taxior use BTS & MRT!

Maybe free one-day pass to Tharn Thong Spa is better than free dinner because they just hired lots of new attractive Thai phuying for 2 hours of massage with special. I'll pay for spa but you must pay for massage and special. Also, trip to Carnation Spa.

Tharn Thong Spa is one of the best find I ever made in Bangkok! The spa has cold pool, whirl pool, steam and dry sauna, free desserts and most of all, if you're horny after spa, you can select one of 40 attractive available girls for massage with special!

Thanks a lot for the lead! Surprising as it may sound but this is what I was looking for in Bangkok! An equivalent of a "health centre" that we have here and Malaysia. Shall check it out next visit!

But is it limited to jet ski rentals only? I've never rented one before only cars in Thailand even those dodgy road side ones along the beach in Phuket and they so far turn out OK.

I've been to 6 different spas in Bangkok and Pattaya. And my favorite spas are Tharn Thong and Carnation Spa. Carnation spa is about 400 meters from Tharn Thong and it's older but their staff is very friendly. Also, Tharn Thong's massage girls are younger and prettier than Carnation! I'm also known as Mr. Mike at Carnation Spa. Thais have hard time pronouncing my real name so I have to use fake names. In Patpong, Soi Cowboy and Nana Plaza girls used to call me James Bond!

I have been driving in Bangkok for a few years now. Not too sure if I can integrate back into Singapore driving style. Really, it is real therapy for those who are tired of stressful and Kiasuism back in SG land. Here, I learn to give way as they give way to me as well, say mai pen rai to those to cut me etc. Thai drivers always signal in critical junctions. My heart is alway Jai yen yen. But as in other countries, there are some rare cases of road rage. Watch out for those drivers who make a living out of driving like taxis, motorcycle taxis, minibuses, buses, 10 wheelers etc. Those are still the most aggressive guys on Thai roads.

No wories about cops. For the past 2 years, I have only been stopped once (not counting upcountry speeding offenses) for crossing a white line. A 100 baht "coffee" payment and I am on my way again within 30 seconds.

One real benefit of driving is ability to give gals a ride. It is a supporting "fire" weapon to your real weapon...

. In additions, it gives me with mobility. Now I hardly cheong around Bangkok city proper and avoid tourist spots or areas within reach of most foreigners. Reason: Less competition with others in a less spoilt market.

Anyway, being driven is not too bad in Bangkok. Taxis are cheap and plentiful. But for those getting a car, the key problem is how to acquire them, unless you walk into a showroom with pretty sales gals, and buy new car.

Bro Norice, car or no car, I wish you happy retirement in Thailand. And yes, they know you are Mike in Tharn Thong & Carnation. Btw, have been been to the Sauna at Yak Meng Jai? Cant remember the name now but is numbered Suana, somthing like XXX suana. I tried the place some time back. Not too bad as well.
