She was at the balcony smoking and turned around as I entered.

J: You finally decided to come.

Me: Was I supposed to?

J: Did you want to?

She looked much better as compared to two weeks ago.

I took out my cigarettes and lit one, joining her at the balcony.

Me: How have you been?

J: Fine. Alicia is a good housemate.

I didn't catch it at first as it sounded the same.

I didn't know if it was appropriate to hug her back but I did. We broke off the embrace when we heard the PIN being entered at the door. Alicia was back with dinner.

J: You were saying something?

A: Alan's at the coffeeshop.

Me: Alan your brother or?

Me: What's he doing there?

A: Don't know. He looked drunk. Really flushed. Think he was buying more beer.

J: He didn't recognize you?

I texted Felicia telling her I was almost done and asked if she wanted to come up and I gave her the block and unit number. She replied that she was on her way.

We waited for around 5 minutes before the intercom rang.

Jasmine let her into the lobby. Felicia texted me.

F: Eh. There's a weirdo hanging around downstairs. Looks drunk.

F: No.

Soon the doorbell rang. Jasmine opened it.

F: Hello! I'm Felicia!

We were interrupted by a knock on the door.

A: Your intercom is buzzing. I think we know who it is. What do you want to do?

J: Ignore him.

Me: You know he can just wait for someone to come in then just follow them in right?

Speaking of the devil, we soon heard loud pounding on the door. We left the master bedroom and went out.

J: Who is it?

A: You know who it is.

Obviously it was Alan.

J: What do you want?

A: Can we talk?

J: No. Go away.

A: Who's inside? I see men's shoes. Are you having an affair you slut?

J: My friends are here. Go away.

A: Let me in!

We heard the neighbours door open and a loud male voice ask Alan what he was doing.

A: My wife won't let me in.

J: Uncle Tan! Just go back inside. I'll call security.

But we heard his door close.

Alan banged on the door again.

A: I'll make sure you regret this!

Jasmine called security and we endured a couple more minutes of Alan banging on the door. At least now we could tell the door was rather good quality.

We heard the security approaching and asking Alan to leave otherwise they would call the police if necessary. Then we heard the lift. Then security knocked on the door.

Jasmine checked the peephole before opening.

S: Everything ok?

J: Now it is.

The security guard stared at me.

S: I thought he was your boyfriend or husband.

J: Oh. He's my colleague. That was my husband. But… it's complicated.

S: Ok. I will let the security know to keep a lookout for your husband. Can you send an email to Management as well?

J: Sure.

S: Ok Mdm. Have a good night.
