Have not posted for a while but here is some information to share.

According to a manager at 999, all saunas (probably just most) in Shanghai (city area i guess) are closed these few days but will re-open in a few days time. Guess business at 畅安阁 and 三月会馆 gonna be good for a while.

天上人间 （on 武宁路，near 长寿路）is open, re-opened in Oct last year and is still operating. 500 tips and 2500/3000 including tips for short time/overnite. Most girls will prefer short time obviously unless they really like you. Also, they may not go out if you are staying in hotel. drinks are around 1600-1800 per bottle, buy 2 free 1. 最低消费 is around 1800 for 1st floor room, can sit 5-6 guys plus chicks. can order around 4 bottles red wine for 1800...

Slightly less upscale is a KTV called 宣宫 on 康定路, near 万航渡路。2 bottles for around RMB1080 due to promo period (last time i check la), there are cat 400/500 girls and its 1500/2000 including tips for short time/overnite.

@ 9 号会所， there are 2 close to each other near 淮海路， tips are 600 and apparently 3000 including tips for short time (I have not personally tried). In my opinion, not better than 天上人间. Similar establishments to 9号 include 白金汉宫 (500 tips) and 伯爵 (600 tips).

In Shanghai, not all KTV girls will go out. Some will do anyone, some will see if they like you and some just don't go out, even if you look like Takeshi Kaneshiro.

Then, there are japan-style KTVs where you pay 200/300 per pax for unlimited beer/whisky and is 300 tips for girls. no mummy and no DJ. Decor is slightly better than BS back in Geylang (for those who know what i'm talking about). I know of 2 in 徐汇 area. Don't know take home rates there coz no mummy, have to negotiate yourself.

Personal opinion, I never like the KTVs, you spend time, spend money, wasted the whole night then in the end the gal is the not going out type. Even if they are willing to go out, the prices charged are exorbitant and you must have a place to bring them to.
