I mean, some gals go back with customer almost every other day, the good ones earn 30k RMB and above each month. If they find an attractive guy they can easily squeeze in a FOC affair. And who knows, at the end you are kinda BF and you may pay apartment, dinners etc. (although my GF rejected all contributions), so at the end it doesn't really make a price difference whether you pay 1k for ONS or you keep a GF. Well, GF increases the comfort level of course.

I think if you have to pay 1k for ONS, it should not be considered a ONS. It's a paid business transaction. In ONS, it should be FOC. Shanghai girls are very high maintenance, they go for branded clothes, phones, shoes, watches. Friend of mine spent several thousands on a watch for his girlfriend, believing that she loved him dearly. Didn't have the heart to tell him that he was taken for a ride. Couple of weeks later, she threatened to cancel a an overseas holiday trip with him because he refused to increase her maintenance allowance. He was so heartbroken, as he paid for the trip in advance. Anyway, he finally relented and she went ahead with the trip. So he's a happy man again. It was he who relented not she. So I've no doubt what she was after all along. I think he kinda suspected, but he just couldn't control his feelings for her and felt that it was money well spent.
So unless you're one of the lucky few who has girlfriends who's not after you for money, the rest of the so called girl friends are out to leech you dry.
Real Shanghai girls are pretty independent and would rather pay their own expenses rather than depend on their boyfriends. However, the flip side is that they consider household duties as a man's responsibilities, and are pretty bossy.
Most of the girls in the entertainment industry (ie. KTV etc..) are not Shanghainese.

it seems that QQ software cannot be downloaded once you're out of China and you can't register a new account. I can get around the software download by using the web based QQ, but is there anyway to register a new account out of China ? I've an existing account but want to create a new one.
Also I can't seem to search for my own account name, I've given all the particulars, but my account just doesn't show up in the QQ search. I can of course, find my account give my account id, but if say given generic details like age, country, birth date, my account should show up, but it didn't.

However, when I tried downloading the latest version of QQ, I hit a roadblock. When I used the web version of QQ to create a new account, I was unable to do it. So it looks like outside of China, you can't install QQ or create a new account. However, if you had already done all that in China, accessing your account outside of China is not a problem.

hmm.. i dun have problem installing QQ in singapore leh.. in fact i just format my laptop and install QQ.
