Just returned from Hatyai. I'm giving my 2 sen info.
There're mainly 3 areas you can find girls. I went to a couple of those. I stayed in See Kim Yong (SKY). 5 hotels there that I noticed, DaiIchi, Garden Home, Merlin, Hatyai Asia and Hatyai Palace. Reasonable rate with the most expensive at 700B and the cheapest at 490B. Farms, normally named something karaoke, are within a shout. The boss I talked to at one of those said there're 7 karaokes, most on Chaiyakul Uthit soi 3. These are open from early morning. There're a few true karaoke bar but only open from 6pm. You can take motorbike and get them to drop you off at 7-11, then start walking around within a distance of 50m. Fare is only 20B from most places. I noticed the girls are also paying same fare so not worth to argue about.
I did went there at 8am and the chicken haven't come home to roost yet. So, the boss there told me to go to Channivate. So, off I went to Channivate 2. A number of joints there. if you can't find anything, try Channivate 3. All within walking distance. The 3rd area is ThongSao but they said mostly has illegal Myanmar girls.
Generally, the damage is 1300-1500B whole day for those who already given birth or not so attractive. For baby-less girls and attractive ones, the standard is 2000B. Fresher girls may cost 2500B. Some are negotiable. The last nite I was there, the boss offered me 1500B for this baby-less girl. She's damned pissed off with her boss. Her share is only 800B instead of 1100B.

So the little girl maybe no money pay phone bill.. WL need to maintain that number so regulars can do pre-book mahz... So... Somethin is not ritez somewhere.. coz I tried msging all 3 numbers. :x Dio boh?

Thanks for the clarification.
For that trip in Dec 2002, I went from HY to Betong and then Betong to Yala which took about 4 hours on the same day.
Did not realise that there is direct bus to Yala.

Glad to hear that HY is still peaceful and you are ok too.
Hope to catch up with you in HY in my next trip.

by the you still trying calling you gal in HY....... just come bck from BKK last week not as fun as HY...maybe got to go with the wrong personl
i had a good idea next time we go HY ask the gal to call our hp first then we will had her contact with us and there will be no problem sms-ing then

Bro, still having trouble sms your puying? I tot I explained very clearly weeks back, if her no is 012345678, the the no to use is +6612345678. No need to add 74 as this is meant for calling fixed land line only or add 0 when you calling mobile locally at thailand. Try calling to see the ringing tone.. if you hear something like "Mai Mee San Ya...." meaning no coverage, could be phone off liao. "Tor Mai Lek...." meaning you enter into voice mail. Puying change mobile no as frequent as they change bra.

when your mobile is roaming in LOS, you wont see the caller id.The best is get her to sms u, you will get the real no to call or sms in return. There have been some problem with their sms center where sometimes when u reply directly on received sms, it will fail sending but when you insert the no from phone book or manually, it will send fine. This problem is encountered with Orange so far.

Narathiwat is even further and you have to pass Pattani before going there. From Narathiwat is where you go to Sungei Kolok which also borders Malaysia. Sungei Golok is where the bomb which killed a Malaysian took place and Narathiwat is where the recent clash took place.

If you are travelling by road from SG to HDY, you will NOT be using any of the roads that are going to Yala or Pattani, or the roads going to Sungei Kolok or Betong. Moreover, if the separatist wants to go that far, bombing the airport would be more effective for them, so bro Halffull advise that safer to fly is, to me, not valid.

So far, there has been no problems on the roads from Yala/Pattani to Hatyai, and no problems in Hatyai town or Songkhla town or even Dunnop (Sadao Town).

No one can say whether there will be problems here or not, and if you take the separatist's words that they will bomb the cities, than Bangkok may not even be safe.

Personally, I do not think it will spread out of the muslim provinces as the separatist only wanted their own state there and not the other parts of Thailand which are Buddhist nominated. I could be wrong of course.

Bro Thaivisitor is right in his analyst, all the happenings are focused and localised on muslim dominated towns. Hatyai, Danuk & Sadao still as far as it was. The city still flooded with cheongsters and farms are as busy especially on weekend since the launch of & AirAsia's KL>Hdy and TigerAir's Spore > Hdy.

Apparently, there are lesser shopper tourist that make a bulk from aunties and uncles who usually include temple praying in Pattani as one of their must visit interinary.

The happenings are on the south eastern side of Thailand bordering Kelantan. Hatyai, Danuk are on the southwest side and not affected. Could see the Muslim and Buddhist could still sit side by side selling stuffs on Niphat Uthit 2 and 3.
But somehow it affected the hotels. I was in HY during the weekend and the hoteliers were complaining occupancy was down by 50%. Even the girls are saying customers are lacking due to the bombing. But some brave souls still helping them, including me.

Buddhist monk, rail officials, police officer among dead

Six people, including a Buddhist monk, were shot dead and two others injured in the South yesterday in what police classified as terror-related attacks amid an escalation of violence in the wake of last week’s Tak Bai crackdown.

In 24 hours, there were six separate armed assaults in Narathiwat, Pattani, Yala and Songkhla.

In Narathiwat, assailants killed two state railway employees in the early morning in Sungai Padi district, said Colonel Toem Intasara, the local police chief.

Amporn Padungyart, 55, and Yaya Panpakdi, 48, died from multiple gunshot wounds, Toem said. Investigators found five spent casings from a shotgun and an 11-mm pistol at the scene. The two were inspecting the railway at a remote area before the deadly assault.

Amporn’s body was later run over by a train, while Yaya’s body was found lying intact between the tracks.

Thanongsak Pongprasert, regional chief for train traffic, said he had asked for increased security at the Sungai Padi train station and protection for maintenance workers in the field.

In Pattani, two assailants killed Jehasae Jehma, 61, a former kamnan and orchard owner, in Yaring district. He died from three gunshot wounds to the neck, chest and abdomen.

Witnesses told police they heard five gunshots before catching a glimpse of the backs of two men fleeing the scene on a motorcycle.

The attack happened at the entrance of the victim’s orchard located near a local road.

A provincial police officer, Major Kaow Kosaiyakanont, 53, was killed instantly after being shot in the head at his grocery store in the town of Yala.

Two men were seen fleeing the scene, said General Boonphen Bumphenboon, deputy national police chief.

In another Yala attack, lubricant salesman Thaweesak Monthong, 42, was killed by an unidentified gunman riding pillion on a motorcycle. Thaweesak’s colleague Banlue Payontrat, 42, was shot in the leg.

In Songkhla, Buddhist monk Phra Nikorn Kaewpradit, 31, was shot by two assailants. He was pronounced dead later in the day at hospital.

The monk was on his way to perform a merit-making ceremony in Chana district when he was attacked.

Two assailants also opened fire on rubber plantation workers, wounding Somnuek Thongkham, 35, in Bannang Sata district in Yala.

The attack appeared to target Buddhist migrant workers from outside the South.

Prime Minister Thaksin Shinawatra lashed out at militants for trying to sow terror in the region.

“It is cruel and inhumane. I have received reports about the shooting deaths of two railway workers before leaving their bodies for a train to run over,” the prime minister said.

He said the militants should examine their conscience, saying four or five innocent people were being killed every day for no reason.

He also urged local Muslim leaders to cooperate with his government in addressing their grievances and fighting terrorism.
