Is that normal for any Liverpool team?

Bro, please wake up and smell the coffee, this is the worst start by a Liverpool team for half a century!!! A team that consists of world class players like Torres, Gerrard, Cole and Reina. Isn't this cause for grave concern??!!!
OK, let me analyse the 7 matches that we played.
1. Against Arsenal, Cole get red-carded and Arsenal got equalise through own-goal by Reina.
2. Lost to Man City away, that I can agree is the worst performance so far. But bearing in mind Chelsea also lost 1-0. (no Cole)
3. A win against WBA at Anfield 1-0, not convincing but still 3 points gain. (no Cole)
4. Draw with Birmingham 0-0, as can see from previous meetinga we played more draws than win there and even top teams also did not win with only Everton breaking their 18 games unbeaten record last Saturday. (no Cole)
5. Lost to Man Utd 2-3. With Berbatov on top form that day with a world class overkick goal, few goalie can stop that and so far no other team had score more than 1 goal at OT this season.
6. Draw with Sunderland, Konchesky injured (28mins) and Poulsen gave away a penalty.
7. Lost against Blackpool 1-2, Torres injured (10mins) and Johnson gave away a penalty. (no Konchesky) bearing in mind that Blackpool has won more away games than home games.

I agree that you say we got world class player but Torres has long spell of injury since last season and recently against Blackpool, Kuyt also got injured recently and not 100% fit and now Konchesky. Also, don't forget we brought in new players like Cole, Meireles, Poulsen, Jovanovic and Konchesky. Normally, newly promoted teams do not have much funds to buy new players and have more understanding and great teamwork together.

If looking at the table now is 7 games from end of the season then I agree that we are in relegation. But it is not even 20% of the full season played. As the saying goes 'the ball is round, anything is possible'.

Again, I really don't know whether am I looking at the same league as you WBA is on 11pts currently and we are only better than Wolves and West Ham both with 5pts.

Liverpool receive two "excellent" bids for club

LONDON on Tuesday. "A Board meeting was called 2day 2 review these bids & approve a sale," a club statement said.

"Shortly prior 2 the meeting, the owners - Tom Hicks & George Gillett - sought 2 remove MD Christian Purslow & Commercial Director Ian Ayre fr the Board, seeking 2 replace them with Mack Hicks & Lori Kay McCutcheon. "This matter is now subject 2 legal review & a further announcement will be made in due course," the statement added. " Christian Purslow & Ian Ayre continue 2 explore every possible route 2 achieving a sale of the club @ the earliest opportunity."
Liverpool, English champions 18 times, hv made their worst start 2 a season 2 a season in more than half a century.

Liverpool on the brink of sale as two credible bids tabled

ESPNsoccernet k reveal tat Liverpool r on the brink of being sold aft 2 new credible buyers, tabled offers 4 the stricken Premier League giants, though tat news is tempered by the fact tat current owners George Gillett & Tom Hicks r refusing 2 walk away fr the club with nothing.

The Liverpool board met on Tuesday 2 discuss which bid 2 accept - 1 of them fr New England Sports Ventures, owners of US baseball team the Boston Red Sox - but while three board members favoured a sale, the proposals are still being blocked by Hicks & Gillett.

The American duo attempted 2 oust managing director Christian Purslow & commercial director Ian Ayre b4 the meeting took place, an apparent sign of just how fervently they oppose the offers on the table.

A statement on Liverpool's official website read: "The board of directors hv received 2 excellent financial offers 2 buy the club tat would repay all its long-term debt. A board meeting was called today 2 review these bids & approve a sale.

"Shortly prior 2 the meeting, the owners - Tom Hicks and George Gillett - sought 2 remove managing director Christian Purslow & commercial director Ian Ayre fr the board, seeking 2 replace them with Mack Hicks & Lori Kay McCutcheon. Tis matter is now subject 2 legal review & a further announcement will be made in due course.

"Meanwhile Martin Broughton, Christian Purslow & Ian Ayre continue 2 explore every possible route 2 achieving a sale of the Club at the earliest opportunity."

Months of abortive bids fr across the globe - including offers fr India, Canada & the Middle East, as well as speculation tat the Chinese Government were even tabling a bid - all fell by the wayside as the buyers were unable 2 offer up proof of funds.

And it had looked as though the deadline set by the Royal Bank of Scotland (RBS) on October 15 - to call in their £237 million loans 2 Hicks and Gillett - could have seen the bank take control of the club or consider placing the company into administration, likely invoking a subsequent nine-point Premier League deduction.

With Liverpool having slipped into the relegation zone, lost to Northampton Town in the Carling Cup, and with manager Roy Hodgson under intense pressure after the poor results on the pitch, worries about no takeover being in sight had led to despair setting in at Anfield.

But potential new owners have finally emerged from the United States and Asia, with the bidders possessing the necessary credibility to convince chairman Martin Broughton to sell and save one of football's biggest institutions right in the nick of time.

Yet the fight is far from over, as ESPNsoccernet can also disclose that the outgoing American owners are desperately trying to block the bids because both Hicks and Gillett will be frozen out of receiving any money for their shares.

Chairman Martin Broughton, brought in to find a buyer by RBS, has insisted that prospective new owners of Liverpool would need the funds to bring in new players, and also to eventually build a new £400 million stadium.

Hicks and Gillett initially valued the club at £800 million, when they first revealed their intention to search for a buyer earlier this year, but it quickly became clear that such a sum was way beyond any true value.

The American duo claim that they are owed at least £150 million but will be shocked that the offers that Broughton, chief executive Christian Purslow and commercial director Ian Ayre are ready to accept do not include any money to pay off Hicks and Gillett.

It is a scenario that will delight Liverpool fans, who will want funds channelled into the club for players and the new stadium, and not back into the pockets of the detested Hicks and Gillett, who have been the target of widespread demonstrations at recent home matches at Anfield. However, on the evidence of recent machinations from the pair, including an attempted refinancing of the debt with American investment company Blackstone by Hicks, it seems highly unlikely that will go down without a fight.

Bloody Yanks but at least the 3 board members are doing the right thing by not putting any money in their pockets.

Any chance the Huang group has come back with a bid? Apparently not:

Bloody Americans are bullshitting. Where got owe $150 million?

Inside story is LFC board will accept the $237 million offer which is the current debt owing by LFC...... by accepting this offer, LFC will become debt free but the personal guarantee by the Yanks amount to $282 million - $237 nillion = $45 million. Which means the Americans have to cough out $45 million on 15.10.2010.

The deal should be closed already.
I think MB meant that he was disappointed that the sale has to be completed via legal proceeding rather than the normal smooth way.

However, the profile of the new owners looks quite similar to Hicks & Gill as they too own a couple of top sports club in US, hope that they did not finance a huge loan to buy the Team.

Will we get new class players in during the Jan Trf window ?
Will we finally start our new stadium in order to challenge with our competitors ?
Will the players finally calm down & start performing on the pitch.
Will we …
Will we …
Will we … get a new manager (my opinion anyway )

You’ll Never Walk Alone…

“The owners have invested more than $270 million in cash into the club. And during their tenure, revenues have nearly doubled, investment in players has increased and the club is one of the most profitable in the (Premier League),” Hicks and Gillett said in a statement
