me also quite newbie, but let me offer what i know.
1) yes.
2/3) Once u step in, usually got someone will ask "敲背吗？" Acknowledge and usually one of the girls will lead u into a room/cubicle，you can choose another girl if you prefer so. So far I never asked the price at the counter. Usually inside with the girl then ask. But usually its 150rmb. may plus 50-100 more depends what more extra they may tempt you with.

Is there a way of knowing just standing outside the bbs which ones provide only 敲小背（hj） or both 敲小背 and 敲大背(bj/fj). ( I would have thought most would provide full service option.)

My one and only experience with bbs girl - I tapau to hotel because i was not comfortable in the small dingy cubicle. But that was about 4 years ago... so cannot remember anything already. I think I may have paid 500 or 600rmb upfront to the bbs for all costs, including take-out surcharge. ...(I felt it I might have been quoted more than market rate... but decided to just accept since it was my last day in shanghai and I had no idea what the market rate was anyway...) I think they cap the time limit for the girl to return to the bbs within 90 mins, otherwise pay for add-time or the girl must pay a fine.

I only remember I tipped her well cos she allowed me to use my camera freely.
That girl assigned to me was luckily the nicer one in the shop while the rest CMI. That is why I am asking whether can choose the girl I prefer or walk-out if all also CMI -- in case I encounter this dilemma after entering the shop during my up-coming trip.

Hi to all bros. May I give abit of warning on the cheonging of sauna. Do be careful while cheonging cuz the authorities are clamping down on these outlets, big or small establishments. This is due to the shi bo hui' next year. This information is given by my uncle who is a local shanghainese. He used to bring me to these places whenever i go over but stopped since the last two visits within these 2 months. It is best not to go at this point of time as he warned. Locals caught will get jailed n tourists, most likely a fine.

So i lan lan but joined him in ktvs and nightclubs on my last 2 visits. Wah lan the prices of the club girls had also gone up. He wanted to "tp" a chick 4 me but was told its around 2000RMB. I actually 4go the whole thing cuz dun feel worth it.

btw also do be careful of bbs cuz sometimes they will jack up the prices if they know u r not local. Also these places r more prone to checks.


Summary- guess it is very much safer to get one back to the hotel n bonk all u want. (already ask my uncle to arrange when i visit again 2 weeks later, heehee).
