I was there during the weekend too (20/4 - 22/4)...... I think what bro DaTan meant was that all the shops and places are back in operation.
Lee Gardens Plaza was oso back in operation too. The lady boss from Lucky Tour offered me to take a room there at special discount but I preferred the Winstar instead.
The crowd in hatyai is not so much as previously but Danok is packed.
Chicken farms at SKY and Channivate up price to 2500 Baht (previously was 1800-2000).
Danok chicken farms open price is RM$300/=
will be heading up to hatyai today, will give an update on the situation there when I arrived. Will be putting up at a new hotel call wang noi which is just behind mayflower.

Next door to the Lee Garden is Pink Lady... famous for their Torah tora massages .... they been around very longtime and downside is most of their gals are mild.

Thanks, hope you also enjoy yourself.
Long ago i had many Hatyai kakis, some died of old age and many 'ran road' leaving this 70+ ex mariner to go alone; in the begining i felt shy about going alone, now i am used to it as i do not owe anybody an explanation as to why i tour alone. Truth is, i like Thailand's food and women better than other places' also i love myself, therefore its only natural i go there and afford myself some happy moments during my twilight years.
Bro Jacob, Agree! I like Thai food and girls too... And also Thai beer ań beaches. Combination of all these stuffs are just the "awesomest" thing!!

Wang Noi is not a new hotel.
It has been around for ages as a budget hotel (250-450 baht).
It has undergone a refurbishment and added a new wing at the back. Rooms are now air-con (previously mostly ceiling fans) with cable TV (60 channels), Wifi, hot showers, room safe, minibar, new soft mattresses and furniture.
After the upgrading, prices were upgraded accordingly..... roomrates is now 600 baht, 700 baht & 800 baht (new wing).
They have oso changed their name..... the hotel is called WUNGNOY HOTEL now. Those on a budget can try out this hotel.
Bros heading to Hdy, pls beware of conmen a during Vesak Day period, hanging around CIMB bank/lucky tour area or around coffeshops. I had this exp. 10 yrs ago. They would ask u "take tut tuk go pray". I was like "hynotized". Ask me buy a pail w sundry. Reach temple, accost me to a hut, not main temple. Monk inside chanting, Ask me put $ in Ang Pow. Put $10, they said not enuf. Hv to put at least $50. When I got back, I realized I was not myself earlier. So, pls stay away fm these parasites.

How is the situation there with all the reports of bombings and killings?
I do not trust the news completely so it would be nice if someone on the ground can give an update.

Hi, Things have since gone back to normal.. the thai people and the retail shops have since gone back to their usual business... however there are still road blocks stationed at some of the roads in hatyai.. there are also army soldiers stationed around the town (for eg in front of Be My Guest Motel).. these was last seen by me on the 20/04 to 22/04.. i will be there again at the end of May... if u are afraid of encountering any bombings, my advice is to stay at hotels away from the central area and major shopping districts.. hope tat my info helps..
