We, a group of 6, just came back from Kanchanaburi Thailand for a golfing trip. We do this once in a while and think that it is value for money. This is just to share our experiences.
- Our ages from 50 + to 60 + - Left on Mon and return on Sat - Golfed Tues through Fri (4 games) Expenditure: - Airfare - Jetstar $170 with taxes - Van hire with driver thb 1500/day plus fuel. airport/hotel/golf courses/whatever. - Hotel Luxury thb 700, River Kwai thb1200 - Greens about thb 600, caddy thb200 - Massage thb 200 for 2 hours - Bonk masage girls (they don't ask but we usually give thb 1000.) Total expenses (less bonks) about S$650 Currently it is low season so greens are cheaper. eg Mission Hills, a championship course, is thb 400 on mon, wed and fri Food are cheap and good, hotels are rather basic, massages heavenly, bonks depends on your luck to pick a good one. Most importantly, the place is safe. We think this is better than spending so much more elsewhere and get lesser overall.

Kanchanaburi is Thailand´s third largest of 76 provinces. It is located 130 km west of Bangkok and covers an area of 19,480 km². About 735,000 inhabitant are living in Kanchanaburi province which borders Myanmar (Burma) at the north-west. There're about 8 golf courses in n around Kanchanaburi.

Jimmy had been playing for twenty years but never had a hole-in-one. As he was blasting away in a sandtrap one day and he voiced the thought. "I'd give anything to get a hole-in-one." Wow ! Juz love this thread / postings since i'm a "re-born avid golfer after 3 year break"...and will be spending time reading all the past postings & "potential golf kakis here !"....But only setback is work wise i have been so very busy ! No thanks to the tight labour situation here that makes it almost impossible to hire & retain good staffs ! So from this year onwards,it'll be DIY for almost every part of my biz !!!....Happy to squeeze in a game a week ! Or at best keep fine tuning my game at the driving range !!!...
Actually i hope to join up with "new golf kakis for short trip liked BKK or weekend game @ Bintan or later in the year when there's more free time other happening golf courses that i have read last few postings !".... Cheers ! Andyk

Hi Andyk, I am just like you, also ver busy at work. Been away from golf for bout 3yrs and very erratic with playing schedule. Opportunitic most of the time when and who to play with. I dun mind playing with new people and new places whenever the occassion arises. Pl PM me if you are game to try some new places.
