Hello Samsters,

After reading the article from the papers contacted my kaki who happened to be there now and confirmed there's been a slight increase (maybe now also tourist/summer season) in mms but not as COLOURFUL as the papers had mentioned.

jus my personal info from my friend.

Bro Ashworth, last week of Sep is it consider peak period? Will the price of the hotel increase? And how's the weather during end of Sep (hot, cooling, etc)? Thanks!

If the newpapers publish until big big better becarefull if you go to XCD. Cause i was there during June and 2 days before i reach the island there was a big check by the YD in the resort. All the gals was so scared and hid in the underground rooms in the hotels. The YD check from early morning till late evening that day, every hotel kena check. Luckily the okts got a tip off a few hours before the check and all gals went into hiding for the day. All the chicken shop and Massage closed for that day too.

If they really want to catch you in XCD, there's no where to run to f.y.i . Unless you can swim like a fish

Hello Bro Hawk88,

With regards to your Sept Trip. My personal advice is try not to. As the Hotel rates will be going up up up (near National Day + Golden week) the weather there will be HOT HOT HOT lots of inland tourists with familes. MMs are still available not to worry. Its Just the Hotel rates are much higher like 200 to 300 RMB range from the normal 100 to 150.

Thanks for your reply. DO you know when is their National day and golden weeks?? Bad news to me as im going there end of Sep. During May 2010, i went there and stay at Hai Jiao or Hai Jing (cant remember but its the 2nd last hotel right at the end, i think beside Hai Shang Huang Gong), Hopefullly the hotel rate wont go up so much.

The Golden Week Holidays falls on 1st May (Wu Yi) Labour Day, 1st Oct (Si Yi) National Day tats the 2 main holidays beside that they have reuinon on Mid Autuum Fest (Zhong Qiu) 22nd Sep 2010.

Will would suggest you try the hotel with a garden in front (Nice sea view no obstruction) recommend to take the highest 5th floor the name either
How Jin hotel or Hai Du hotel the rates about 100 or 110 normal day try negotiate if price is higher.

Im going on 26-28 sep to XCD. Hopefully wont be so crowded and price wont go up so high. I think the hotel u mention is Hai Du which is located somewhere near the middle of the stretch of Hotel. There is another hotel called Hai Jiao or Hai Jing also got sea view (located at the last 2nd hotel deep in beside Hai Shang Huang Gong Hotel. So far I recce all the hotel, only this 2 hotel got sea view with reasonable price.

can any helpful soul post some links?
