Yes Bro Seekfun your kind of strategy of hanging flower is correct, For small hang flower joint we can go slow like what you had just said start from $20 and test water first, than slowly go to $30, $50 or $100. Is better to hang in a small joint rather than going to those big joint whereby there are too many heavy hanger there and small timer cant beat them at all.
Think the next time I also need to go to those smaller join to hange liao.

frankly usually u go small joints there are not much shows but singing and then those "pai pai chang" (* where all singers sing together)... for 20 dollars i know there are a lot places... snooker ktv at middle rd / xin ge cheng at serangoon (ulu place) / goodluck ktv at parklane 4 floor / so much more more ... but for 10 dollars only hawaii i think ... have to agree sometimes its quite addictive and worst is drink a lot = anyhow hang... but now ctrl and seldom go liao ... maybe we see each other b4 who knows.... hahaha ....

Any bro know whether these hanging-flower joints will be open on Sat night (eve of CNY)? Will it be crowded or deserted?

She came to your table more often than the singers, and when you are not hanging flowers, she would pester you with suggestions to hang this one hang that one. Then at the end, she also expects at least a $50 tip.

even the mixture of chinese performers and performers from other countries are not permitted. hence if a joint applies for thai or philipino singers, they cant have PRC singers and vice-versa.

entertainment laws there are really tight plus you have the public entertainment licence (the police is taking care of this), MOM (they catch overstayer and illegal workers), AV (they catch anyone doing funny things in KTV), CNB they catch drug users and god know what other departments are out there.

Just too many entertainment laws in Singapore.

Haha, Bro my 8 mths in DC is just like 2 years there bcos I use to go there 3 to 4 times a week for 8 rolling mths So is like 2 years lor

DC is consider quite a big joint i think in this market ... juz curious how much they charge for their beer and liquor... bros who go there usually hang how much... for me i usually go to smaller joints...

1. For beer if you are sitting on those counter charges will be $38 per mug nett
2. For hard liquor (martell) sit on those counter or those table just in front of the singing stage will be $278 nett with free flow of fruits.
3. For beer if you are sitting inside a room than will be the charge of the beer plus room charges of $120.
4. For hard liquor (martell) sit inside the room will be $378 nett inclusive of free room and free flow of fruits

my buddies and i are on a mission to survey all the hanging-flower joints in S'pore (if that's possible at all)!

went to two recently. here is the FR.

1/ New Generation on Maxwell Rd and Shenton Way.
Was told this was actually was one of the most prosperous. only has a large lounge, with no ktv rooms, so only sing, dance, talk and drink there. jug of beer $38, minimum flower $20 (although never saw anyone hang that, it's almost always $50). usually has 25 singers, but only 14 or so during the CNY. Singer quality cannot be compared with DC, but still a few gems. seldom see anybody hang anything bigger than $100. people act pretty reasonably there. so your $50 goes a longer way than at DC, where even $1000 flower seems no big deal. So we end up having much fun there.

2/ Beer Garden at collyer quay.
This one has the worst physical environment i've ever seen! Everything is cheap there. The "flowers" for the singers look like shit. and you sit on plastic chairs! but because it's outdoor, the air quality much better. so good for your health.
again, not the full roster of singers were present. most of them totally CMI! BUT, found a real gem, had great time with her, and will be working on her (to become good friends, that is). Beer jug $28 (or maybe $38?), minimum flower $30. didn't see much flower at all the whole night.

BTW, heard that there was this one PRC singer at LV, who was considered by many to be the No.1 prc singer in town. Anyone saw her performance?
