Wow, used to stayed there and those days it was like a 5 stars hotel.

The President Hotel was the hotel I stayed at the first trip to Haadyai. It was the ONLY one with a swimming pool then. I remember it was a little out of town but you probably won't see it that way now with the town growing so rapidly.

Yes bro, now I remember the disco name after reading your post, Hollywood and Emperor disco are the 2 we cheong when in Hatyai. My first trip was in 1984 and every year 2 to 3 times up to 1990.
In 1984 & 1985 mostly do raw and when back to S'pore, most of the time need to visit the clinic at 2nd floor of Kreta Ayer (can't remember the doctor name).

Rememebr the ON rate was 300-500baht and the exchange rate was S$1 to 120baht, for S$40 you can have multiple shots until your legs become jelly

I have often wondered what it was that draws me back to Haadyai again and again back in those days, and why it seems to have lost its attraction to me since.

First and foremost, it was the subservience of the service providers. Perhaps it's cruel to say so but back in those days the girls were controlled with an iron hand. Bad service was simply not tolerated by the brothel operators. I remembered the girls were punished for misdemeanors, had their earnings docked and were sometimes even beaten.

The girls don't smoke or drink, served their clients food, and grinned and bore with it even when the client was old, fat and ugly. I have yet to hear complaints from my campmate's father (old and fat) who used to extol the 'virtues' of the girls in Haadyai. In other words, the girls know their place.

After a period of more than 15 years away from Haadyai in which career, girlfriends and finally family took precedence, I ventured back for 3 days, hoping to relive those happy and reckless days. I found indifference, attitute, even insolence, both from the girls and the pimps, not to mention a sharp increase in price that is both unjustifiable and inconsistent with the inflation rate.

So many of the girls are on Ecstacy, Yaba and what other drugs they have. It's extremely rare, although it happened, to have any girl run out on the client.... I know of a few cases where the girls begged the clients for leave because their tiraks are in town. And it is unheard of - asking the client for money to buy drugs.

I missed the good old days where we went to have that special GFE found nowhere else in the world, where we escaped from the drudgery of everyday life to a week of heavenly bonks, the imagined and sometimes real romance, bonks, Ancient massages, bonks, great and cheap food, bonks, relaxation, and did I mentioned bonks?

In the golden years, girls are from villages of chengmai, phayao, chengrai etc, but now seems like all those girls are from Burma thaiyai. And i can remember booking a model in Ah Lai model cost 1.2k-1.5k. Now you want get model from SC cost 5k

ya...actually i have tons of pictures over the years i went there
but during that time no digital ones only hard copies
so once i changed my marital status i threw all of them away
but i still got some spare ones here and there

The problem with the girls nowadays is that most of them are in it voluntarily as opposed to the days when these girls are 'sold' to the brothels. They can walk out any time they like and thus their attitudes.

I am not advocating we returned to white slavery but I do miss those days.

Inflation is inevitable therefore the increase in the prices for service rendered. What most bros are lamenting here is the sharp drop in the service level. If anything, the service should have gone up a few notches in correspondence to the price increase.

Cambodia, where I am now based, fortunately has not yet caught up with Thailand yet and GFE still can be experienced, although the service level is also slowly going south. By the time it bottoms out, maybe I'll be too old to chiong.
