Think Gov hit them becos they are renting room? Under HDB rules, Home owner cannot anyhow rent room out as stated below:

Eligibility of Subtenants

Subtenants must meet the following conditions :

Citizenship

Subtenants must be either :

* Singapore Citizens;
* Singapore Permanent Residents; or
* Non-Citizens legally residing in Singapore (holders of Singapore blue Identity Cards, Employment Passes, Work Permits* or Student Passes)


But then how gov prove that they actually rent is another question. But I guess not hard to force answer out of WL

My ex-gal used to stay in one of the 3 rm flat at joo chiat area. Becos the owner wife is a vietnamese and they have 3 kids already in S'pore. She was being charged $15 per day with meals provided and the rm sometimes can have 15 ladies plus living rm abt 25 persons. Think the owner really earn a lot from the gals there.

Wow, if assume the occupant rates is everyday there r 15 ladies for 30 days. That landlord earns 15 X 30 X 15 = $6750.

Was there on Friday with a group of at 51, really change alot as it been mths since I been there. The live band with 2 female singers looks ok with a male singer. Seem to change into a flower joint where you see guys buying them when the waitress keep pushing the customers to support the singers.Initially I was cheering and clapping when the singers end their songs but keep quiet later when the waitress keep coming to me to support the band.
