I'm currently in Balai, have arrived here since June 16. The ex-mummy from V55 has told me that V23 & V16 are going to reopen soon, but yet to know how soon. Currently I'm staying at Maximillian, seem rooms here are highly occupied, many people are having breakfast at restaurant here, but Long Beach is very quiet, didn't see any diner there last night.

Some villas may be reopen next month, demand of ferry service will surge, so daily ferry service between Singapore and Balai may resume. However, unlikely to resume to the level of pre-covid time, villa also won't fully reopen soon. Majestic office at Balai ferry terminal still remain close. Ferry operators are trying to maximise profits and minimise costs, free bottle drinking water no longer provided and don't expect ferry operators will reduce fare and boost capacity rapidly, they try to fill every vessel to maximum capacity.
Immigration is now with ac. But ac is not strong. Departure hall is now at lv1 (beside arrival) instead of lv2. Seaport tax still 6bucks for non citizens.
Balai will never change despite the ferry terminal has refurbished. Staffs there still asking for "kopi money ", visitors still get harass by ojeks and taxi drivers. If you're not firm enough, prepare to get con by them.

Still rmb few years ago when i visit there first time. If I never read this thread and do some research and planning, for sure will kena con there.
And i always see the staff there like to target old uncle and threaten them their medicine is illegal for kopi money.
