I dont hate the sg girls. It is the culture ( tradition built over time ) here, and i believe too in equality for our female sisters.

It is the culture that become a problem to our society today, and we men bear the brunt daily, which foriegners, who came to our shores either recently or a few years, will never understand. Infact, they will be the ones to quickly but stupidly put up the armour to protect the sg girls and more than ready to lash out at us together with their SPG girlfriends.( let's not blame them, for they know not the truth or reason, or even want to understand i guess.)

The only difference between men and women socially in singapore is only 1 thing - National Service.

All males born here ( excluding foriegners or holders of foriegn passport) serve our country proudly for a min. of 2 years, irregardless of status, race or education level.

During the 2 years stint, we are taught several things in life, be we just a clerk or a hotshot F16 pilot - forbearance, patience, teamwork, etc among many things. But most important of all, we learn Honour and Integrity, and Duty to our nation.

Of course, there is no denying there are misfits in the army, but it constitutes only a minor %, for how % of males were ever sent to detention barracks or faced court martial? The fact that most of us don't is definitive proof that after our service, Honour, Integrity and Duty is ingrained into our collective minds - the defensive emotional barrier to prevent us from going over to the darkside when we deal with situations in our daily lives interacting with others.
We learnt this valuable trait in the army, for should we fail to learn, rest assured we would be 'beaten' into it thru various form of punishments. Thus, most singapore boys leave the army as matured men.

Unfortunately, singapore girls while seeking for equality, do not learn this lesson. They still behave the spoilt and pamper girl throughout their lives. Pettiness, Jealousy and vindictiveness is their trait. Worse during their regular PMS.

And what claims do they have about doing national duty too of bearing the next military and economic warriors for our country? They dont wanna have kids or want to stop at one only, even if the guy wants to have more or is willing to sacrifice his own life to work harder to support the family.

In the name of maturity and equality, we men let them be, treat them with honour, integrity and duty, bore with them and hope perhaps we can change them. But we are not the army, which allowed punishment. If we so much as touch the girl and AWARE will come after our ass with a 10 ft pole, whips and canes, bankruptcy charges, etc.

I respect the organisation AWARE, whose aims is to protect women. I too, protect women and would rather see no harm done to them, and had even serve my duty to the Nation to protect them as well.

But AWARE, in fighting for equality, is blind to the fact that they had not sought to train the women that which we sg men went thru. As such we men are being taken full advantage of, and our society will only get worse as time goes by if nothing is done.

Worse still when economic and authoritative leaders who want to keep female toys, promote and give power to such women who lord over men, instead of being fair and base their promotion to merit.

We Singapore men are highly sought out by our asean female neigbours, because we are hardworking, pragmatic and matured. Although we may be cheongsters, some amongst us are married, swore to the marriage oath, females would say what honour, integrity and duty are we talking about?

There lies the inequality again. In the first place, the oath is taken by BOTH parties. If one breaks it, should the other uphold the oath? If a home is not a home, with constant naggings, quarrels, fights, can the other party be blamed for moving on to seek solace from others?

Sigh..what i say only falls on deaf ears, as the girl who gave me solace, gave me the meaning to strive and live is being sent home far away.....

Singapore men are highly sought is right...but you cant say we are hardworking, pragmatic and matured....It is just that majority of Asean men is not the same as Singaporean....I would say...it is the economic of Singapore which attract them indirectly...and indirectly the passport...You think if Singapore economic no good and lousy passport will attract them even if we are hardworking, pragmatic and matured???

Naem's view is correct about the protection part. There's always inequality - hence those vices are still around. So, make best use of the situation & opportunities & go 'skrew' them more..both sides are happy with the outcome anyway.
