THE MEET UP
The day finally arrived and when it was almost time for me to meet her, I got to her office lobby and waited in anticipation. It has been quite a while…. I was seated in the lobby area looking at my watch constantly and also watching the people streaming out from the elevators, looking out for the woman I used to call BABY…. Then, there she was….in her short, sexy black dress with Red flowery imprints. Her hair was now JET BLACK, as compared to the past when it was streaked with highlights…. “Hi, sorry I’m late” She said while I replied, rather awkwardly “It’s ok….er…..take a seat first, I’ll call for a cab. (I’ve stopped driving for a while due to some traffic violation) “Is it very difficult to get a cab from here?” She asked “ER…well the Taxi queue is REALLY LONG and I reckon it would be better to just pay a bit more by calling…..” “Sure” She replied in a nonchalant tone. It felt rather awkward as we were still trying to size up each other and decide how close we should be since we’re supposed to just be ‘friends’ now…. After some 10 mins of waiting, the cab finally arrived and after giving direction to the taxi-driver on how to get to the restaurant, I attempted to try to break the ‘silence’. “So, How’s the new job?” “Not bad, better than my last one” After some small talk, we finally got to the Japanese restaurant and were escorted to the private Tatami room that I had earlier booked. As it was still early, we ordered some Japanese beer to just chill for a while and also to ‘loosen’ the tongues so we can talk in a more relaxed manner. Some 3 bottles of beer later, we were chatting heartily about the past, ex boyfriends, her last boyfriend that she sacked recently. “Baby, you know something?” She asked suddenly. “Huh?” I was rather taken aback as I have not had anyone call me baby for a long time and I certainly didn’t expect that to come out from her. “You’ve set such a benchmark with all your loving and caring that it has become extremely difficult for me to find another man who can replace you……”

I sat there dumbfounded and figured the drinks had really ‘loosened’ out her tongue…….
The door to the room slid open at that moment, bringing me back to my senses. Johnny, the Boss, of the Jap restaurant came in to join us and brought along some Hot Sake, My Favourite, to drink with us. As the Hot sake started flowing into our systems, we gotten a bit more loosened up and she was telling Steven about how I always pampered her and how we used to go crazy drinking nearly everyday, etc…. After some 5 flasks of the Sake, things were getting really interesting as she was calling me BABY as per the good old days and our feet were caressing each other’s under the table…… Long story short, we finished the dinner, called for a cab and headed down to a newly opened bar in the heart of town, to continue our drinking. Upon arrival and after I paid the cabdriver, she held on to my hand as we walked in, just like the old days AGAIN….. I was going through an emotional roller coaster as it brought back the old familiar feelings that felt so recent, all of a sudden, even though it’s been more than a year……BIZARRE! Anyway, the manager brought my bottles on our table and we started drinking our scotch heartily and before long, we shared our FIRST FRENCH kiss after 400 days!!! We were then joined by the Bar owner, Wendy, and her friends consisting of 2 ladies and all of a sudden, ALL the ladies were like SISTERS ganging up on me……..! Since the situation was such, I went over and started playing pool, allowing the ladies to just continue their bitching…… SHE suddenly came over to hug me from behind as I was playing pool and we were then locked into each others arms again whenever I was waiting for my turn…… “IS THIS CORRECT?” My mind wandered…… “WILL THIS lead to being as before?”
