Was away in China (not in GD) for a few days. Have to spend away all my high cost RMB.


Today rate at PPC remittance agent is 4.53.

So quick goes down now.

Most people here are buyers of RMB. Instead bring cash back to Singapore to exchange, it is more efficent if u just bank it into their RMB account in China and they credit the SGD into your SGD accounts in SGP.

Am flying off to Shenzhen/Huizhou tonite and I just changed at Hougang Mall. The rate was 4.45..Just last week when I did my first exchange was 4.43. Looks like the rates slowly going up..

25/03/09 rates might be even better. Tuesdays and Wednesdays are the days I'll change foreign currency. Always have the best rates for the week.

Cartel at PPC have broken down, rate are not the same anymore. Today rate varies between 4.53 to 4.54. Interbank rate now is only 4.42

At the time of your posting (around 4am), it is possible to guess what is the rate going to be in the morning. RMB against USD is very stable. What you should do is to look at how SGD was trading in NY and you will roughtly know what the rate going to be next morning.
