as my ferry inching nearer to the jetty
i read the SMS replied from my source
i was told to wait for a certain taxi arranged to pick me up at batam center
i was really excited ...

i reply asking him what was that all about
he told me there is a batch of ceweks in transit here
they are bound for jakarta and medan from taiwan
he knows the taxi driver who are asign to take them to the airport in the
next few days
so i am in luck...
when i reach batam center the taxi driver will bring me to their hostel
actually i learned that both the gals are rejected at the taiwan immigration
due to certain criteria not approved
to be honest the gals wont get anything from their bookings
in fact they still owes the boss air tickets
what i do is just paid the taxi driver any amount
UP TO ME!!!

i went straight to the KAHA counter for hotel reservation
i asked for planet and panaroma
this guy KOMANG
told me PLANET at $98 and PANAROMA at $80 or something
sorry i cant remember
i then asked for a night at PLANET
i went to the money changer
the rate was $1 : 6950 RP
but the counter gal told me she can gives me the rate at 7000 RP
so i change for $200 because i dont have any RP with me
as expected the taxi driver pick me up at the batam center exit
i told him i am going to check at planet hotel

i love the design and decorations
planet always brought back some of my memories there
the room is clean and you can even smell it
as i am older now my nose is very sensitive
i will sneeze like hell if the air con duct is dusty or dirty
but i was disappointed...this room doesnt have a balcony
and it is not facing my homeland

as there is a phone next to the toilet bowl

he told me if i take both or just one
i told him i would like to view them first

i asked him how do i pay for them

I'm a simple chap with simple needs. I do not flaunt anything to anyone.

I've also try to comprehend the lifestyles of Indo ppl but sad to say Batam comes across as the worst amongst other Indo ppl in other cities that I have to visited from time to time.

My path may have been worse off compared to few bros here when in Batam

I mean no harm but just a cautious notice to new samsters

For seniors and regulars I believe you'll pass thru

ps I'm not one to kpkb abt "wah so cheap tis n tat" hell man its been two decades almost that I've done Indo cities.
I frequent Batam cos some flights don't fly fm Singapore hence to Hang Nadim to frequent other cities

I've even had taxi supirs merely asking me to book his wife instead of the usual KTV ceweks.. I was like WTH and tis is only one example so there are countless.

I've alwayz enjoyed the other Indo cities and had nvr come across such incident

I am 101% with your statement, I've live in Batam for the past 15 years and I can say that most if not all are actually fairly nice people.
Just need to treat others how the way you want to be treated...
