May I suggest you stay in Kelapa Gading. Mainly Chinese stay there and food is the best. U can find lots of Singapore style food here.
Now there is a over supply of apartment there and price I last check for a furnish 40 sq M unit is about US 4-5 k a year.
And the best thing is it's only 15 min to your working place.
