Re: Chiangmai
So after checking out Chiang Mai recently, here is an FR from a first timer in Chiang Mai.
After intensive research on the internet, I have planned to slack during the day, and explore the 3 various "night activities" at night. Night 1 - GoGo Bar Foxy Lady - Said to be the best Gogo Bar in Chiang Mai, but most pricey. Night 2 - Freelance Scene at Bubbles Day/Night 3 - Massage Parlor Sayuri All damages stated after the "essay". Night 1 (Sunday) Arrival I find myself at the rather quaint little airport of Chiang Mai, but according to information I gathered from the internet, I walked to the "Airport Taxi" (or like sounding) booth after exiting and got a taxi to my hotel, which is Star Hotel at Loi Kroh Soi 1. As I step out of the airport to look around, I was surprised that the surroundings reminded me much of a slightly more developed Batam, but cleaner, if that makes sense. I soon reached the hotel and I was rather disappointed from the exterior and Lobby, which looked more then a decade old and not really maintained properly. Walking into my room though, my whole perception on the hotel changed on a dime; it was huge, spacious, clean, and full of mosquitoes which was taken care off rather quickly by the staff with an odorless insecticide. I think. Having some time to kill, I dumped my stuff down, got my bare essentials and started walking around to recce the area. While walking, I realized that Foxy Lady was just a 5 minute walk from my hotel, amongst other things. So getting some rather mediocre grub from the Night Bazaar Centares Food Court (I hope I got the name right), I went back to the hotel for a quick shower (sadly, there is no bath tub). Fresh and relaxed, I then made my way to Foxy Lady. Foxy Ladies! Being a gogo newbie (Yeah, I've been to BKK countless of times, but never stepped into the infamous Nana Plaza or Soi Cowboy), I wasn't very impressed with the layout of the area. But hey, that's not what we guys go there for, right? So taking a seat closest to the door, I got a beer, and a girl came by to seat with me. After asking for a Lady Drink, which I obliged because she could speak rather fluent Mandarin (My Mandarin is atrocious, but it is slightly better then my Thai) and I had a decent flirty conversation with her. But spotting a girl that caught my eye, I called for her, and with a mix of Thai and English, I soon paid for her barfine and got her to my room. Uh... So well, I guess the whole journey did take it's toll on me, and the beer didn't help at all. And it didn't help that it was her first month, or so she claimed. Anyway, her shaven pussy was too much for me to totally pass off, so I got her off to a wet end with my fingers, and she got me off with hers after about half an hour of my dick pretty much playing hide and seek with her. Tired and with the small beer buzz wearing off, we both went to sleep. We woke up at around 0800, and I paid her (no tips) and we left our separate ways, her to home, me to breakfast. Night 2 (Monday) A word of advice, Star Hotel might be a rather nice place to stay, but the complimentary breakfast follows the mantra of "You get what you pay for, and in this case, since you didn't pay anything...". But if you are good with just toast or fried rice with coffee, it's eatable. So in the afternoon, I went to visit the Doi Suthep temple and the nearby Mao Village on a 1/2 day tour. If you are interested in checking out the temples, that temple is a definite visit, though I would suggest finding an alternative way of getting to the temple instead of the tour, which is a little on the pricey side. Back with my socks soaked from the short rain that started at the temple (It's high up on the mountain, and it rained there), I took a nice warm shower and went for dinner and a massage. I ate at Le Spice at Charoenprathet Road Soi 6. I didn't know what to eat, so I walked around and noticed that open aired Indian restaurant that had really good prices, and well, good food as well. Walking down the lane, I went to a Tup Tim Ruby Massage, which was rather quaint but it did a job. Also, the owner is rather friendly! After the massage and slacking at the parlor with a cup of hot Chinese Tea, I decided it was time to head over to Bubbles. Ghost Club Well, after entering the club at 2200, I realized it was empty. The DJ was kinda hot, and started with some rather nice R&B tracks, but soon degenerated to some really crappy eurotechno tracks that made me start drinking more as if it would stop the music. At 2400, with only a bunch of male ang mohs hanging around probably wondering where all the FLs are like I am, I decided to screw the plans and head over to Foxy Lady. Before leaving, I did ask the ticket counter, and they did confirm that it being a Monday coupled with the low season, it really is bad. On the way to Foxy Lady, I passed by the Massage Parlor, and the boss did tell me to check out the Live Band club beside it, but after like 12 drinks, I decided to just call it a night and continued to Foxy Lady. Foxy Ladies! Round 2 Entering in, I got myself a Coke, and soon got the girl who was with me the night before. Another girl approached me prior to her, but she will have to wait for the next time I go to Chiang Mai I guess. So after having a short supper at the "patio" of the bar while chatting with a retiree migrant, the girl and I went back to the hotel and this time, even after all the drinks I had, I had an amazing time with her. Waking up at around 0900 the next day (blast my bio clock), we fooled around a little before going for branch, and finally saying goodbye. She did try to get me to bring her to see the elephant show, but I declined, because I was left with just enough for food and a massage. Night 3 Sabai After eating the famed Khao Soi, and another massage at the same place, I was invited by the boss to sit and talk with him and his retiree friend. After talking for awhile, we did get onto the topic of beer, and I said I did prefer Chang over Tiger, and in a minute, he was scooting away on his friend's new Honda Wave, and coming back with cans of Chang. It was only then, did I notice the real hospitality of the Thai people (Yeah, so buying 2 cans of beer for me still net him a profit from the 2 massages I had at his shop, but still), and the true meaning of "sabai". There I was, reclining on a faux leather chair, cold beer in one hand, cigarette in the other, talking for hours, as the really cool breeze, which could be called a wind compared to Singapore's breeze, brush across me. Feeling really relaxed and... well... "sabai", I went back to get a good sleep to wake up for the early flight home the next day. Exchange rate at Golden Mile - 1SGD - 23.13 THB Damages (Misc.) Direct Flight via Silk Air - SGD 238 Star hotel Deluxe Room - SGD 60 per night (Much cheaper options exist of course) Taxi from airport - THB 150 Local Food/Food Court - THB 40-80 Tuk Tuk to airport - THB 80 Massage (Thai style, 1 Hour) - THB 150 Damages (Foxy Lady) Beer (Small Bottle) - THB 75 Lady Drink - THB 125 Bar Fine - THB 500 Short Time - THB 1500 Long Time - THB 2000 Damages (Bubbles) Entrance + 1 Drink - THB 100 House Pour - THB 100 Bottles - THB 1500 - 2000 Total Damage - SGD 818 Summary I really liked Chiang Mai. It is a whole different experience from Bangkok, and has the same vibe as Batam. Like they say, if you go to Chiang Mai, "relac lah!" There isn't much to do during the day, other then hanging out at the shopping centers to oogle at the slim, fair-skinned Thais that populate Chiang Mai. People in Chiang Mai are much more friendly then in Bangkok, Chinese peeps (at least me, I got a general "Asian" look) get mistaken for Thai 99% of the time, which means no higher prices, and the girls, especially uni girls there, are usually jaw dropping gorgeous. Yes, I didn't follow my plan, but regardless, I had a good time. So if you would like for a relaxing (and I have to stress the word relaxing) trip to Thailand with the option of having a "taster" of what Bangkok has to offer, check Chiang Mai out, you wouldn't be disappointed. |

[QUOTE=ABCinSG;3942233]So after checking out Chiang Mai recently, here is an FR from a first timer in Chiang Mai.
Hi, It's good to hear that you had an enjoyable trip in CM. I suppose now is the raining season in North East of Thailand (CM & CR). Lacklustre of activities due to low season. You should tour around CM university since you were on the way to Doi toseip (The golden Temple). Many pretty & fair looking undergraduate gals in the vicinity of CMUni. Public are allowed to access to the vicinity of the UNI. The cheapest way to go to Doi tosep is to board a "SONGTIAO" a longer version of "Tuk Tuk" which cost 60 to 80 Baths per way to the "SongTiao" station on the bottom of the hill side, the station is approximately 300m after CM ZOO. Another amount around 60 to 80 Baths (around this amount, as I cant recall the exact amount) for a ride to the peak of the hill in another "SongTiao", but the condition is there must be 10 passengers on board to enjoy this rate. If you attend the evening's chanting session, you will find quite a number of caucasian attending it. Personally, I like this temple very much & chant whenever I am there, & having the greatest honour in my life being blessed by the holyness, the chief abbot of the temple during my last visit. Cheers.

[QUOTE=yinyang;3943362]Well spoken of true LOS vet. On uni puyings near doi suthep, just be careful they don't armtwist you to nearby jade shop 555
![]() (Also see you been to clarke base, pinoy land? How's it compared with LOS?) Hi Bro YY, In AC, currently is the low session. Rather quite, more bargaining power for customer. Beers & Bar Fine are so much cheaper than Bkk. Be spoilt for choice. But accommodation are slightly on the high side & the working process of the staffs are rather slow compared to Bkk however, if you are keen & have great interest for a "Cherry Gal', now is the "Best Time" to exploit. Do take note that, In AC the concept of the bar is similar to those in Soi Cowboy & etc but the price are much more cheaper & more quantity of gals over in AC. Pls read the AC thread. Cheers.

Re: Chiangmai
Stayed in CM for one week during Aug.
If you are thinking of finding beautiful, fair thai girls in the agogo bars or MPs like Pandora etc...Better forget it. However..if you can speak some thai for basic conversation and doesnt look like over late thirties..then this place is for you. The place to hunt for fair syts are in the Chiangmai University campus and discos like Warms up and Monkeys. These are the places that are swarmed with thai babes and university students. Forget abt the agogo bars and MPs cause the best or goodlooking CM workinggirls are all in BK or Pattaya to work. |

Old con man
Decided to post this warning. I was conned 1200TB (abt Sing $53). Although it is not a lot of money to me but I felt pissed that I was cheated. It happened like this. In the morning, I was waiting outside the McDonalds at the Night Market area to hail a sangtew to the old city. Suddenly, a old chinese man abt 60 years old walked towards me and asked if I can speak cantonese or teo chew. I replied that I cant but can converse in mandarin. He asked me where I am from.Told him that I am from Sg and he showed me his passport. He is born in Malaysia but holding a Singapore Passport. He told me that he is a retiree and he travelled with his wife from Sg to Haydai by bus and then train to Bangkok and then Chiangmai. He told me he lost his wallet and ID when he was at the market in the morning. He wanted to go back to Sg by train and need money urgently. I told him to report to the Tourist Police or Singapore Embassy. He told me that its just a small sum of money and he wont even able to recover the money even he reported to the police. I was very reluctant to lend him the money as I am aware of many con cases and scams happening ss I travelled to Thailand many times. He asked for only 1200 thai baht from me and gave me his hp number and address. I asked for his home line but he said his wife is mute and he does not have a home line. He looked miserable and kept begging me for the money. He said that he is already so old and he will not cheat me and will return the money to me as soon as he returned. I took pity on him and handed the 1200 THB to him. I also gave him my hp no. When I came back to Sing, tried calling the hp no he gave me but cant get thru..number busy Decided to look for him with the address he gave me and found out that address was a fake one. I lended the money to the old man because I pitied him and believed that he would nt cheat me and he was also from Sing. I was so pissed not because of the money lost but when I found out that I been cheated by my own countryman while holiday in a foreign land. |

Nimmanhaemin Road
Quote:
Before the horny samsters here think that CM chicks are easy to score. Yes it's possible but don't get your expectations too high unless you look like Andy Lau or Tom Cruise. Takes time and money which most short stayers do not have the luxury of. Getting phone numbers is easy but screwing them is another matter. Unless you're one of those ONS KINGs out there. ![]() Haha I guess Warm Up and Monkey Club on Nimmanhaemin Road are still around? ![]() ![]() Quote:

Re: Chiangmai
Yep..Warms Up and Monkey club are still around.
Went to both places on a friday night and both places were packed with many uni students. Also saw few grps of farangs having dinner there. However, I still prefer the clubbing scenes in Bangkok RCA. |
