Thank you for remembering me! I am not missing, just feel that I do not have much to contribute to the thread and do not like to waste the bandwidth of others.

Actually, during the last whole week, I was in Sichuan area, Hahahaha...! Do not get me wrong, I was there for a big project and did not have much time for fun, other than meeting my regular friends.

I was back to home base yesterday morning and shall be leaving for China again tomorrow. Sigh.... Work.. Work...
I shall be in Shanghai the week after next though to meet up with some of the brothers.

I wish you well also for your work down in the South of China, and I am sure we shall meet again in Shanghai.

Need to attend business seminar in Shangai in a week or two and it's my very first trip to China land. Have only one leisure weekend (Sat/Sun 2 days 1 nite) to spend but intend to roaming around Hangzhou or Suzhou (or other nice nearby area) rather than SGH itself.

Any advice which location is nearer from SGH - SZ or HZ or other outskirts nearby?
what mode of transportation is most convenient and less hectic, cost wise?
hotel recommendation (a decent and convenient 3 stars hotel will do) and etc.(of course cheonging place too) Had flipped thru few SBF threads, SZ and HZ info are very limited and some as far as March 2006.

Really appreciate some guidance here. Tq.

As u mentioned herein on only having 2 days + 1 nite in Shanghai, it's not very advisable to travel out as too little time to do that & enjoy the places of interest.

Travelling to Suzhou from Shanghai takes about 1 hour one-way by train (SGD$5). Travel by train to Hangzhou need about 3 hours or so one-way (SGD$12).

Hotel charges ranges vastly. Log onto www.ctrip.com to check on available hotels & rates.

Having only afew hours for transit in Pudong Int'l Airport won't bring u far to any fun bro.....

Nearest HC or so-called town area (with malls, restaurants, etc) are located at Pudong New District area, Lu Jia Zhui CBD Area. It's almost an 40mins or more if during Peak Hours to travel there. Also, most HCs, KTVs, bars & pubs are located across the Huangpu River, on Pu Xi Old Shanghai Area district, which requires another 30mins to ravel across the river tunnel, with the ever always traffic jam in the tunnel mght take even longer time to travel across then.

As u mentioned on your intention to travel to Hong Qiao area to patronise the HCs as intro-ed here by fellow bros, time constraint is also the same essence for u! From Pudong Int'l Airport to travel to Hong Qiao area easily requires an hour or more to reach by taxi.

Hope the above info helps and gives u a better picture and understanding on how to spend & manage your transit time period in Pudong Int'l Airport bro.
