Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Barcelona 2 - 0 Viktoria Plzen : Iniesta and Villa on target
Barcelona had to settle for just two goals despite battering Plzen in a predictably one-sided Champions League clash at the Nou Camp tonight. Andres Iniesta and David Villa scored at either end of a game in which the hosts could have got close to double figures had they taken their full quota of chances. Lionel Messi twice hit the post on a night when he left the Plzen defence punch-drunk but was simply unable to find an accurate finish, often guilty of over-playing, while the visitors defended at times as though their lives depended on it. Barca's win moved them on to seven points, level with AC Milan at the top of Group H - the two top places all but sewn up already. (excerpt from ESPN Soccernet)

Barcelona 0 - 0 Sevilla : Barca held as Messia last minute penalty saved
Sevilla goalkeeper Javi Varas saved a stoppage-time Lionel Messi penalty to cap a brilliant display as his team became the first to shut out Barcelona in the Primera Division at the Camp Nou this season. The game ended in controversial fashion with Sevilla reduced to nine men, Frederic Kanoute sent off for two bookable offences after the penalty award - the first for kicking the ball off the spot and the second for clipping Cesc Fabregas around the head - and Fernando Navarro following him down the tunnel in the sixth minute of added time. But Barca could not find the breakthrough as Varas frustrated Pep Guardiola's champions, saving everything they threw at him. (excerpt from ESPN Soccernet)

Granada 0 - 1 Barcelona : Xavi strike seals narrow win
Champions Barcelona returned to winning ways in the Primera Division but had to grind out the three points in a 1-0 win against nine-man Granada. Although it was a less than emphatic success, Barca they did get the job done against their struggling hosts as captain Xavi's first-half free-kick was just about enough to earn them the victory. Barcelona 5 - 0 Mallorca : 5 star Barca
Lionel Messi's hat-trick led Barcelona to a resounding 5-0 victory over Real Mallorca at the Nou Camp. The Argentina forward netted three times in 18 first half minutes as his side quickly took control of the game. The second half brought a first senior goal for Isaac Cuenca and a superb late goal from Dani Alves to round off the scoring. (excerpt from ESPN Soccernet)

Viktoria Plzen 0 - 4 Barcelona : Messi nets hat-trick
Lionel Messi brought up his double century of goals for Barcelona with a hat-trick as they qualified for the Champions League knockout stages with a comfortable 4-0 victory over 10-man Viktoria Plzen in Pep Guardiola's 200th game as coach. Messi won and converted a 24th-minute penalty as Marian Cisovski was sent off, added a second just before half-time and, after Cesc Fabregas headed the third, completed his 14th Barca hat-trick in stoppage time. Athletic Bilbao 2 - 2 Barcelona : Messi salvage draw
Lionel Messi scored in injury time to preserve Barcelona's unbeaten start to the season as they struggled in heavy rain in Bilbao. Barcelona conceded for the first time in 900 minutes of football and appeared destined for defeat when Gerard Pique's own goal gave Athletic the lead with ten minutes to go. But Messi took advantage of a slip from Gorka Iraizoz in a drenched penalty area to lash home a late equaliser. Cesc Fabregas had earlier cancelled out Ander Herrera's opener. Barcelona 4 - 0 Real Zaragoza : Barca cruise to victory
Barcelona continued their prolific home form this season with a convincing four-goal victory over Real Zaragoza. Gerard Pique and Lionel Messi netted in the first half to put Barca on course for the win and second-half strikes from Carles Puyol and David Villa completed the scoring. The result means Barca have now netted 30 times in their seven Primera Division home games this season, while it is 11 matches ago since the European champions conceded a league goal at the Nou Camp. AC Milan 2 - 3 Barcelona : Barca tops group
Barcelona secured top spot in Champions League Group H after leading AC Milan three times at the San Siro. The Italians equalised twice through Zlatan Ibrahimovic and Kevin-Prince Boateng after Barca had twice led through Mark van Bommel's own goal and Lionel Messi's 31st-minute penalty. But Pep Guardiola's side wrapped up a commendable win through Xavi's finish just after the hour mark as Barca, who like Milan had already qualified for the last 16, ensured top spot with a game to spare. Getafe 1 - 0 Barcelona : Barca stunned
Champions Barcelona slipped six points behind Primera Division leaders Real Madrid as they lost 1-0 away to Getafe. Pep Guardiola's side dominated possession but were out of sorts throughout the clash at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez, and rarely looked like securing the win they so desperately wanted. And after Madrid's earlier victory against city rivals Atletico, Barca were sent home empty-handed as full-back Juan Valera headed an unlikely winner for Getafe in the 67th minute. Getafe mob Valera after his goal consigned Barcelona to a 1-0 defeat. (excerpt from ESPN Soccernet)

Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Barcelona 4 - 0 Rayo Vallecano : Barca back to winning ways
Barcelona put Saturday's defeat behind them to cruise to victory over Rayo Vallecano and move back to within three points of La Liga leaders Real Madrid. Barca lost at Getafe at the weekend, leaving their rivals from Madrid with a six-point lead and prompting many to predict the title race was already almost over. Pep Guardiola's side remain an unstoppable force at home though, and two goals from Alexis Sanchez and a third from David Villa killed the game off before half-time. Lionel Messi's strike after the break left Barca having scored 34 and conceded none at the Nou Camp this term but, though it should end talk of a slump, they remain well back on Madrid having played a game more. Barcelona 5 - 0 Levante : Fabregas bags brace in rout
Barcelona responded to Real Madrid's win at Sporting Gijon earlier today by hitting Levante for five at the Nou Camp. With Madrid having taken control of the title race over recent weeks, Barca kicked off this clash six points behind their bitter rivals having played the same number of games. But, with El Clasico on the horizon next weekend, they put on a show that suggested they are ready to fight to retain their title. Cesc Fabregas got them going with a first-half brace, while Isaac Cuenca, Lionel Messi and Alexis Sanchez also found the net. (excerpt from ESPN Soccernet)

Re: Barcelona - NouCamp Faithful
Barcelona 4 - 0 BATE Borisov : Youngsters shine for Barca
Barcelona's youngsters showed the club's future could be just as bright as the present with an impressive Champions League victory over BATE Borisov at the Nou Camp tonight. The Catalans' passing was as tight and crisp as ever as goals from 19-year-old Sergi Roberto, 20-year old Martin Montoya and two from Pedro, at 24 the third oldest player in the starting line-up, earned them a convincing win. (excerpt from ESPN Soccernet) Close...short of 1 goal ......Barca "2nd team" (Pep Guardiola rested virtually his entire first XI) still proved too strong for BATE.
