Hi, cos according to others, i have to solemnise/register my marriage in Singapore with the china girl even though i got china ROM Cert? SO which is which?
So if its true that i can just "update" or endorse my china ROM Cert, will i get a certificate from singapore ROM to proof to ICA that i have married and use that to apply for my wife's stay in Singapore?? Thanks.
I married my wife in Fuzhou, China and we were issued 2 red marriage booklets, one for the hubby, one for the wife. Later, my wife get her booklet endorsed and translated to English with the relevant authorities in China and passed them to me for application of her social visa. ICA accepted it readily.
And, there is no need to register in Singapore again.

Bro, this reply of yours really helps! I appreciate it lots. Okay i will try to get our booklet translated to english. But when u say relevant authorities, do u mean the Singapore embassy in China itself or do i bring it back and translate and endorse it at the China embassy in Singapore before bringing it to ICA?
Cause the translation part is tricky, which relevant authorithy am i able to bring it to endorse/translate and also notarise. I prefer to do it here in Singapore when i bring the booklets back becos it is more accessible here. Pls advise. Thanks!

I heard previously from my wife that she get it done thru the "Gong An" office, Police Station in China.
She is asleep now, perhaps I will check with her tomorrow, hopefully u still around to wait for my reply.

You can bring it for translation at the high court... they have a translation department... fees at $18 first page, subsequent $12/pg... if not wrong...

When i married my wife in Vietnam, i brought the marriage cert to translate into english. After that, i brought it to the Singapore Consulate general for them to STAMP on the translated copy. I realised that the translated copy with the Singapore Consulate Stamp is very useful in Singapore

Ok.. that's from my wife...
1) Marry and get your red marriage booklets in 涉外婚姻局, 民政厅。
2) After obtaining the red marriage booklets, go to her hometown (where she was born and in charged by) and look for 公证处 to get it endorsed and translated.
3) Actually besides endorsing the marriage booklets, she also need to obtain endorsement on her 出生证明 using her 户口簿 and 身份证 in the 公证处。
4) Also she needs to get herself a 无罪公证 from the 公征处, after getting 无罪证明 from the 刑警队, using her 户口簿 and 身份证.
Actually in the 公证处 , they will also advise what your wife needs as well. So not to worry.
p/s: At the 刑警队, be prepared to listen to some craps and then pay some kopi $ to make thing go smoother, even your wife has no criminal record in China.

I really need help here. I am about to get my Chinese Marriage Cert and proceed with my chinese wedding procedure in China.
Please please advice as i have gone all stressed reading the procedures at ICA's website. Those bros who have really gone through all the hardship just to be with your foreign wife, I salute u.
ICA won't have much information on foreign marriages, Should ask ROM mah. HeHe.... Please see my answer below although there are several knowledgeable bros like naemlo and checkmate who provide such an update and accurate information...
Q. What are the common things I need to know, as a Singaporean/PR who have married overseas?
Another potential FW [Foreign Wife Member...], welcome welcome....
Actually yours quite a simpler case, comparing to Single-Divorcee marriage. Once you finalised the marriage booklet, Congrats!!! Den fly back to singapore and get ready for the application of her LTSVP. Apply a social visit pass using your marriage booklet, and you as her sponsor. Once pre-approved, get ready for her to come to the Lion City, rush for an early Queue for the application of the LTSVP [Long Term Social Visit Pass], documents as mentioned in this thread before. If you reached this stage den call us lor.
