I read from one of MrDevil's thread, mentioning a seafood restaurant on the hilltop overlooking part of H city, sounds very shiok. Errr...., any idea what is the name of that restaurant and how to go there???

Probably I would like to bring my tirak to this place and romance romance a bit....

tried SC once and have to agree with that they are well educated,groomed & elegant. The one I had some time ago was a Bkk gal(most of them are) and uni grad.

Good detailed report, SD38... my 2 cts worth below in blue

Direct flight (TG)

It’s about SG 300 for a direct flight on Thai air to Hatyai (include both airport taxes). For a one-week vacation, the most ideal is to fly on Monday (about 5pm SG time) and return on Sat (also about 5pm – timing will change, please check with your agent). The flight takes about an hour and it takes a further less than an hour to reach Hatyai town from the airport. I find the timing awkward and the cost not-value-for-money.

This is still my preferred and most convenient modus operandi as it allows me to hit the ground running and fresh so to speak. Don't like the lousy SG-HDY flight of 445pm though

Flight via Penang (Air Asia)
----------------------------------
Flight to Penang via Air Asia is available everyday. From Johor to Senai airport is about 45 minutes, but do cater for a larger allowance if you are taking the flight on a weekday as Senai is located at Industrial estates (only of course, if your flight coincides with the rush hours). The flight from Johor to Penang is about an hour and 10 minutes, trip from Penang airport to Kayu Hitam (border b/w Thai and Malaysia) is about 2 hours (1.5 – 2) and the trip from Kayu Hitam to Hatyai is about an hour (give and take a quarter of an hour).

From JB to Senai airport – cab fare is about RM 30 – 35. Flight costs about RM 130. Airport limousine to Kayu Hitam is at RM 180 (note – you can choose to take mini-van at much cheaper rate) and from Kayu Hitam (actually from Chenglun) to Hatyai is about RM 54. All in all, a very troublesome way to travel unless you have friends in Penang traveling to Hatyai with you in a car. Else, a no no for me in future.

Btw, the flight was delayed for 1 and a half hour. I understand from the cab driver in Penang that it is pretty common for Air Asia flight to be delayed. That the situation is much better now (as delay less than 2 hours) than before. Unable to ascertain the accuracy of his statement, though.

The closest route I tried is SG-KL-Alor Star by plane... Then Alor Star to Kayu Hitam by Taxi...Kayu Hitam to HDY by taxi.....works out to be much more xpensive and tiring than direct SG-HDY flight.

Would only use this if travelling on days where other than 1,3,6 when no direct SG-HDY flight


Sakura Grandview (SGV)

The first hotel I stayed is SGV, a preferred choice apparently among many brothers of this forum. Paid 880 baht (higher than the 820 baht stated in the forum) and got a room at the highest floor (16), nice view.

The advantages are in-room safe, not many family / uncles / aunties type, good massage, bellboy with contact (for newer brothers), okay selection of TV programmes and big bed.
Word of caution-careful with the bellboy/porter as some of them are out to earn quick bucks. Only take up their offer if they bring gals to your hotel room,,,don't leave hotel and follow them to farmhouses etc

The disadvantages are only 2 lifts to serve the 16-storey building, bath tub is beyond small and soundproofing suspected. The last point deserves further elaboration, you see, I woke up at 0400hrs (Thai) due to interesting noises from my neighboring unit. Brothers, you want to do it, please ask your fish to keep the noise level down especially at such ungodly hours (just kidding). Should have continued to listen and maybe cheer them on but was too tired and went back to sleep.
Reception chicks are the better looking one in hotels around

I actually did not stay at this hotel this trip. But anyway, the rate I checked is at 520 baht. Despite staying at the more expensive hotel, I still prefer this one for its more than ample room size, porno channel and huge bath tub.

RTS - definitely

I stayed in a hotel with Hatyai in its name called Hatyai Rama. When I asked tour agent what was benefit of this hotel, they said "near to airport". When I arrived at hotel I felt like going home via nearby airport. Real "coma" hotel... worst hotel I stayed in ...was during peak period so this was best I could get then...only stayed for 1 nite


Wanton Noodle

Interestingly, I noticed that the wanton noodle served in Hatyai tastes better than that served in Singapore / Malaysia. Btw, I am referring specifically to the noodle itself. Their pork slices, wanton and vegetable still have much rooms for improvement. One good place to have the noddle is near SGV. Walk across the road from SGV, turn and face SGV, then turn left walk about 10 to 20 meters, turn left and you will see a shop in a small alley. The small alley is facing Porsche club (a nightspot, never been in there so don’t ask, hee hee). The shop starts later in the morning and does not apparently cater to breakfast crowd. Recommended.

I believe you are referring to my fave noodle stall as well.. The noodles is great not the soggy type in S'pore. Add lots of meat and run by Chinese woman..Near to Emperor hotel behind Sakura.. I did'nt know it was stone' throw away from Sakura..so I used tutu who went one big round.
Talking abt Porsche club that is another onite booking club but not recommended as mamasan is the same mamasan of Wonderful who moonlights... believe she transfers her leftover stocks from morning Wonderful to this place and charges a premium for it somemore..Young ones well dressed up but with "Wonderful" type of attitude...the type that likes birthday party with frens or bring frens along and you have to foot bill type or have all kinds of stories to MIA...

I am not sure if I got the same place as stated in the dummy guard. The people seems to refer to this place as Hai Keong rather than Hai Q. Saw quite a number of cheong brothers hence assume is the same place. Spoke to the fish I booked and she told the tutu to come here. There is a display area of the seafood where you order the food before retuning to the table. I don’t like the food cause there are too much garlic used. About 400 bahts for 2 persons, including vege, prawns, some salad, big head, etc. Recommended (saw a lot of cheong brothers, hence, next time try other dishes and see if I like it).

"Talathai" Seafood is popular..lots of variety and popular with cheongsters & their ayam. But too crowded for me

The one opp Sakura...I think 101 Seafood restaurant is also not bad and cheap

CV is located near Florida Hotel. One sure way of getting there is to hop onto a tuk tuk and ask him to bring you to CV. CV looks better of the three...tutut brought me round once and spotted few sweet young things.. somemore this was in evening 5-6pm when there was s'posedly low stocks.
Did not try as generally have not had a great gal from these day farms
Tried 1 gal from TS sometime ago...disappointing
Tried 2 gals from Wonderful b4 - young but average looks. 1 was "dead" fish Other one was party gal with all kinds of stories to try and MIA...couldn't wait to kick her out 1st thing in morning.

A very nice place which is quite quiet during the weekday. Live band that performs quite well. Recommended.

Kiss Lounge is nice and classy with selection of overnite booking gals...well behaved, groomed
Quite a few sweet ones here.... New stocks every now and then with some BKK gals.
Had 1 BKK gal (huge tits, nice body) who simply rocks. When bringing her back to hotel, she kept touching and looking around the cars. I kept grabbing her to my waiting tutut. finally the gal stopped at one of the car and open the doors and beckoned me to get into her car. That moment I saw my tutut driver's eyes and ego dropped into floor and fell to pieces. I gave him good tip and patted him on back.
1st time I was driven around by a working gal. apparently she drove all the way down from BKK as more convenient for her. Quite a tight spot and embarassing initial moments for me...regardless we had great papow that nite...hehe

Stay there once and the whole floor was occuppied by me and the puying with stange noises during midnight.
The poor puying was grabbing me like a log. Change hotel the next morning.

Suggest you try Abbassadoor hotel, just opposite the canal, cheap, nicely renovated and clean.

May be running up again in July after my Ho Chi Minh trip on the coming Monday, 31st May.

Yeah, in my next trip, will not be staying there liao. With all these guides provided. I think going to H city have more things to do and spend time away liao.

Regarding going by Coach, I do agree that grassland somehow gives a much better feel as compared to most coaches.

The restaurant on the hilltop is call Bon Khao,up the restaurant is the Four Face Buddha,the restaurant is famous for Roast pig leg.

So u r attracted by the mamasan too!Btw the girls in SC rotate around these few places Hatyai,Phuket and Bangkok,best is not go back to hatyai in 2 months time most likely u will see the same girls again.Seen some of the same girls for almost 5 years.

One question though...., I think its a silly one but I need to ask. Over in H City, where can I eat roast pig? I do not seem to see it around...

Most of the restaurant and zhi cha coffeeshop also have roast pig ....wouldn't have any difficulties and less than 500 baht for a piglet.

Gals at kiss lounge are sweet and pretty with good packaging on the outside...but their service still leave much to desire as compare to those gals from Pink Sky Lounge.....they are more adventorous and fun-loving.
Is the cost for Ta Pao at Kiss lounge 2800baht above.? 8 months never step into the south...making a comeback soon..

Most of the puyings at Kiss Lounge are priced at 2,500b with few at 3,000b and some older one at 1,800b. That exclude the hours fine upto 12am from the hours you took them out. Otherwise you could take them for a short time of 2 hour for 1,500b excluding the 2 hour min booking fees. Expense is pretty high here if you add the hourly booking, short time bonking, drinks, tibits but the gal quality are much better, as good as SC quality. Best time is to go at about 8pm when the party just got started. By 10pm, most are either gone or taken.

Found one unpolished diamond here, too bad on my last few hours of departure, otherwise will surely have a lovely night. Will find time to write a FR on her, rated the best so far from all my Hdy encounters.

The restaurant name is Bun Kaaw (translated as top hill), right at the top of the hill with very nice hdy city scenerary and kwan yin statue. Must try their fried pork leg, simply taste great for those who are not afraid of high colestrol. I think your tirak should know the place. You will got to take a van up for 350b, tuk tuk cant go up.

I think the seafood restaurant that you mentioned is the one in Koyok, about 45mins from Songkhla. Nice lake view, cool air and great food. Price pretty reasonable too. All our trips enjoyed some of the best food in Hdy, from breakfast till supper.
