Good breakdown but Driver is overstated, around RMB1500 can already. With a 7 seater Buick is around RMB 10K. Maid for USD 500 is spoiling the market leh... RMB 1500-2000 enuf leh. Language Tutor..Hmmm...tough...can be free if he plays the cards correctly..but then again..nothing is free in Shanghai..better pay..fuck..and ...forget.... else become "aaaaa" hehehehehe

Though I am not very sure abt all the cost involved, those you mentioned should be the standard market rate, whereas bro Shanghaitan said should very high end, as Big Bro greatnyc can afford lah.
One thing for sure, with that kind of budget, life here is extremely good.

Good day fellow Brothers,

Sorry I did not respond earlier as I do not usually turn the computer on during weekends. However, thank you for all the kind assistance especially Bro Shengge. I will definitely consider all options and will be contacting all of you for advice when the time draws nearer.

In fact, the budget for housing is only for housing as the car is provided by the company. As for maid, driver, etc, it will be under a separate budget.

I also apologize if I seem to be flaunting 'wealth', please rest assure that is not my intention. It is the budget given by the company and I would just like to find out what that means in Shanghai. However, I do understand that Shanghai is a different world and I will be very careful. Thanks for the advice.

I do hope to meet at least some of you during my look-see trip early September. Till then please take care.
