We are now talking about Thai money which is 700K baht. Equivalent to 30+K SGD.
But today we talk from their currency point of view.
700K is about 70K to what we singaporeans think. Just like you eat roadside chicken rice at 20-25baht which is like what we singaporeans eat in kopitiam at $2-$2.50 for a plate of chicken rice.
Do you guys pay a dowry of $70K if you marry a sgp girl? I am not saying whether it is right or wrong to pay that amount, but I can say is that the family is taking advantage of the situation.
If today both marrying parties are of a higher society class stature, paying a high dowry will look good on both families. Our normal middle sgp family marry off the daughter don't even take so much for dowry.

Probably there are Sg girls who are the caring type also. But maybe not so many as compared to some other nationalities.
I have been thinking a lot about this, and I've been going through a number of posts here. I have come to think that if a girl truly likes u (whether she is WL or non-WL, whether she is Sg or non-Sg girl), she would be caring and concerned about u, and as Siamcutey said, she would not lie or be uncontactable. I would even go so far as to say matters of religion would not be a barrier. But if a girl doesn't like u, it would be very obvious (she can't lie or put up an act forever), and she can come up with any justification (no matter how silly) to dump u.
On another point, I recall a friend telling me that a relationship takes two hands to clap, it cannot be a one-sided affair. You cannot be the one showing concern all the time.
I am no expert in Boy-girl relationships.
Are my conclusions/hypotheses correct? Anyone wants to comment?

In singapore, get the dowry prices you hear. Add one 0 behind and that is the how it should be.
Do not do currency exchange.
Example lets say you get $8888SGD for dowry in singapore, then in thailand should be around 88880 thai baht for a marriage lor.
Something like this. Not to far fetched like 700K baht. If its the rich marrying the rich, of course paying more represents their status.

provided if both reached till that stage, but in anyhow she and her family is happily spending the 70k buildong their "castle" liao. Having said that, I am seen couple (WL with Msia guy) married without any dowry but you still escape of feeding her family, the question is how demanding is her family and how far she willing to go all out for you.
